I'm back today to share my final July layout with you.
This layout took a few sessions to complete, the background, stars and stitching were done before I finally came back to the embellishing a few weeks later.
I knew as soon as I bought the star paper that they were going to be fussy cut. I had the idea to do them in vertical rows with lines of hand stitching holding them all down. I began by roughly working out my design before adding some colour to the background using gelatos with the packaging technique. Once all that was in place I could set about the embellishing.
I created several layers under my photo using some patterned paper. I also dug into my D-lish stash and found a 5" lace paper doiley and a diagonal stripe bitty bag which suited perfectly.
With so many papers stars and stitching in the background I needed to keep my embellishments fairly simple. I used a polka dot date tab under the top edge of my photo. Some wood veneer stars, a flair and faceted enamel dots finished off this area.
The arrow and heart wood veneer frame really helped draw your eye to the focal point of the picture, it also created the perfect space for my title to rest. This cluster was completed with another flair, wood veneer star and some more faceted enamel dots.
I hope you enjoyed my share today. I really enjoyed creating it even though it did take me a while ;)
See you next month!
