'Smile' by Amy C

It was a sunny Sunday afternoon. Master Samuel had disappeared into the backyard,… on a mission. His mission was to gather a bundle of spiky seedpods from the liquid amber tree.
He then lined up his collection in one row, to measure it: “4.02 meters, mum!”

I printed the photo in black and white to make good use of the textures (and the smiley face) in the photo. Black and white also gave me the freedom to choose a minimalist black and yellow theme and allow the yellow of my theme to ‘sing out’.

To prepare my page, I simply applied some large and small splatters of yellow and black ink.
Then, using a stamp with a permanent ink, I stamped some butterflies around the page. Next, it was time to adhere my photo and journaling down.

Pictured here, I was able to use a combination of recent mini-kits and other goodies from the store. These are fabulous, and full of gorgeous goodies!
I have used a flair, patterned paper (butterflies) and washi tape.
The title from the kit is a ‘creative cut’… these come in various shapes and forms from the D-Lish Scraps store.

In this cluster here, I used washi tape from a past ‘Just Add Paper’ (JAP) kit. The date tag was from the mini kit. I have adhered a shaped wooden button on top of the fabric.
The Charms Creations heart was complete with a black resin butterfly from the store.
After the completion of this simple page, I still have the remnants of the mini-kit… perhaps I could make some cards? Or even another page?
These kits really are excellent value!
Here is another close up of my page!

Thanks for stopping by!
