what's your story by Mal

Hi all,
I'm back today to show you my latest page using all things D-lish.
It's a page I did with a very minimal background and lots of embellishments.

Again I've left the frame with no photo. I'm really enjoying just creating without a photo in mind and adding in a photo later.

After my background, I decided that I wanted to make the frame the feature of the page. I love using frames...they really make the photo stand out and it makes it very easy to embellish the page when you've got a focal point.
I use a lot of frames, rectangle, square, round, chipboard and in this case raw wood veneer frames.

Next I added my title, which I inked and sprayed. This is a raw chipboard title so it absorbs a lot of ink or spray, so it took me a few tries to get the colour I was happy with.

I then added flowers and a flair button.

And finally a few small stars from a past Just Add Paper Kit...aren't they awesome???!!!

Happy scrapping...Mal xxx

So Happy by Ros Aggett-Madley

Hello again 💙

I have another page where i have smooched distress oxide ink and water on my background.

I have taken a scribble circle with stars creative cut and inked it to match my background.   I've then heat embossed some iridescent embossing powder over the top of this.   I have done the same with a small circle cut from cardstock for my smaller photo to be mounted on.

I stuck the creative  cut on to of my photo and once the glue was dry,  carefully cut my photo so that it was framed in the circle.
My cluster has been embellished with a flair button and some enamel dots

To finish my page off I've taken some pieces of paper doily and colored with distress oxide inks.   I added a sequin bow and a few enamel dots to these.

"Just Relaxing" by Sandra Brimelow

Hi everyone,

I am back with my last share for the month.
I quite like how this layout has got so much texture on it, and the products from
D-lish Scraps really helped to achieve that texture.

I used a 5 x 7 paper bag and mini packet to use as a mat behind my photo, they also added some colour to the layout.

To embellish the layout, I added a flair buttonenamel dots, Corbett Creations wood veneer bow, and some rosebuds. Each embellishment adds a different textural element.

So why not have a go at adding different textural elements to your layouts. There is so much texture available to us, to use, and you probably have a lot in your stash.

Until next time, have a good day and happy scrapping. Sandra

‘Awesome’ by Amy

Hi all! Today I am here to share my final layout for April. This one is a photo captured after a personal training and a walk session! Nice to kick back for a few moments afterwards before moving on with a busy day!

To prepare the background, I used some bright acrylic paints and roughly painted the white cardstock. Then I splattered some white ink over the colours.

After it dried, it was time to create some layers behind my photo.

I used a black and white ‘Polka Dot Bag’, corrugated white paper from my stock and Punchinella – in white.

Once the photo was adhered down on these layers, it was time to embellish the page.

Most of the D-Lish Scraps embellishment I have used come from the ‘Boys Rule’ JAP kit. As pictured here, from the kit, I have used – flairs, veneer stars, speech bubble creative cuts and journal card.

If you look closely, you can see I used the ‘Star and Dots’ mini-stencil from this kit with Colour Blast texture paste in Snow White.

Finally, in the top left-hand corner of my photo I used some more wood veneer stars from the same kit.

I love how this page has turned out.

The Boys Rule kit is a fabulous kit full of goodies.

Also, as a final tip - you could use similar ideas, with just a few changes, in a feminine project.

Thank you for dropping by!

Amy 😊

"Ed Sheeran" by Jasmine Shea

My son is obsessed with Ed many of us are ;)
We recently went to see Ed in concert in Auckland as part of a family holiday.
He was amazing.
My son was awe struck throughout the entire concert.
It was like he could not believe his idol was there right in front of him.
This page is about our night.

I used part of my wrist band for the title and as other embellies on the page.
I have also used from D-lish
Pieces from the March JAP Kit

Stay tuned for more pages from our NZ holiday.
We were there for 3 weeks and had the most amazing time so I want to make sure I document it all...well most of it anyway :)

"Egg Hunt" by Anthea

Hi all.
Here is my sample page for my challenge this month for D-lish Cyber Crop.
My challenge is to scrap an Easter page (making sure you include some circles to it). - I thought this would be a good way to encourage you all to scrap some of your gorgeous Easter photos.
This is a group photo of the kids who took part in our annual Easter egg hunt, 2017, that we have at camp every year.

My whole LO started with me cutting out some circles and backing them with punchinella.  (I have done this in the past, but I think having a cutting tool makes it look so much more effective.)
I then added flowers and embellishments grouping similar colours to my main punchinella circles.
I have resin flowers, a combination of paper flowers, a lace butterfly, a cut up journal card, and a suede tassel.   I then added faceted enamel dots around some of my punchinella circles in matching colours to make them pop a bit more.
I then added my title with lime green puffy alpha stickers (I was surprised I had some of them left to be honest) and loved that while the title stood out, it didn't overwhelm the page.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at my close ups and hope that you give this challenge a go.
You can find all of the challenges on The Scrap Suite.  You can either upload your challenges here on the blog or on The Scrap Suite for your chance to win a gorgeous JAP kit - created just for the winners of this months CC.
Till next month
Take care

After School Treat | Amanda Lawrence

Hi all!
Today I'm sharing my recent cybercrop sample layout with you all.

I set the 'Rule of Thirds' challenge which was to use; 3 patterned papers, 3 embellishment clusters and a 3 word title.

Here's my layout:

I actually decided on the challenge before making my layout so it became a challenge for me also. I started by choosing a photo that I could title with 3 words ... criteria one, tick! Then I went through my paper stash and selected 3 colours that were represented in my photo. I went with a turquoise to go with the egg on the cupcake, a yellow for the cake itself and also the juice and her uniform. For the last piece I chose a pink as I felt the colours worked nicely together.

I had an idea to make a strippy background, so also chose a roll of washi tape to match each of the papers. I then grabbed 3 border punches and cut up a few strips of each paper before constructing a vertical section of strips, alternating between washi and paper and the 3 colours.

Once that was done I applied some clear gesso before using some mists which I applied using the packaging technique. A few splatters and then my background was ready to embellish.

I wanted to make set areas for my 3 embellishment clusters so I grabbed my stitched circle stamps and made 3 clusters where I knew my embellishments would go. I also stamped a butterfly at each area too. My main cluster was to the left of my photo where my title would also go. I used flair, paper and resin flowers, some thread and a polka dot journal tab.

My second cluster to the right of my photo included another flair, these were both from the 'Live Life Happy' set and some more paper and resin flowers.

My final cluster had some more paper and resin flowers with an added canvas bow.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see your take on the 'Rule of Thirds' challenge in the gallery in The Scrap Suite soon! Entries are open until midday on Friday 11th May.

Together by Amanda H.

Hi all,
It is Cybercrop time again at The Scrap Suite. It was my turn to think of a challenge and I came up with this page with the challenge to use a long skinny photo. I cropped this photo of the Christmas table and I like the simple effect of the long and skinny photo.
I started with a cool piece of patterned paper and use some white gesso through a stencil for the background.
Under photo I layered a paper lace doily, as well as some washi tape. Do you love the recent trend in the JAP kits to have skinny washi tape? I do!
I finished with Christmas stickers from my stash and some perfect lovely D-lish Scrap embellishments.
For the title, I used the wood veneer word "together", which came from a recent JAP kit. You can find other wood veneer titles here in store.

In the top corner, I repeated the same elements but this time teamed it with a Bitty Bow clip.

Head to The Scrap Suite and join us!

Thanks for looking!

Awesome by Ros Aggett-Madley

Hi there,
Thanks for joining me today 💙

Today's page started with a stamp and some water colouring.

Poking under the top of my photo is a piece of doily.  I'm a big fan of tearing these into pieces and using small bits.

On to of this I've put a sequin bow.

Scattered around my page is a splattering of sequins and resin flowers.

Finishing off is a stamp from the Everyday Words set.  I stamped on some black card and heat embossed some white embossing powder.

Hope you've been inspired 💙

beYOUtiful by Mal

Hi all,
Mal here with a share of a page I've done that's pretty simple but I think rather beYOUtiful and uses lots of D-lish.
What do you think?

After I did my background, I decided I wanted a small photo and a large title. So I went to my D-lish stash and found the perfect title...the raw wood veneer beYOUtiful from a past Just Add Paper kit

I coloured it with a few different mediums until I was happy with the colour and the look.

I then took some plain silver coloured wire and twisted it and gave it some kinks and placed it around my photo and across my page.

I then took three flowers, yes two of one kind, which were actually cream paper flowers which I coloured with mist and a completely different one, a resin flower and placed them on either side of my photo.
I buy lots of flowers, cream or pink or white or yellow and then colour them...pretty cool to make them match your page.

Finally three silver glittery enamel hearts - how gorgeous are they - placed in a triangle to draw the eye towards the photo.

I know it's simple, but I'm all about simple and with D-lish stuff, all I have to do is add a few beautiful embellishments and I'm done.

Happy scrapping...Mal xxx
