always an adventure | by Nicolee Cable

Hi all
I'm back to show you a layout that came together very quickly, mostly because of the stunning background paper.  It was perfect for this layout theme and I'm so happy with the result.

I didn't have to use any paint or ink, all I needed to choose was a few more pieces of patterned paper and the embellishments and hey presto - like magic, this layout was formed! (Oh how I wish they were all that quick and easy!)

I cut up some patterned paper into squares and rectangles and strips and then layered them all on top of each other.  I cut a beautiful aqua doilie in half, splitting it across the two different sides of the photo.  I then placed a kraft polka-dot bag to back the photo (and then proceeded to cover most of it up)!  LOL!  Oh well, I love creating with layers and this was just another layer.

I used some bakers twine, separated the threads and then screwed it up and placed it under the photo.

I cut some scallops into a piece of cork and used the negative side under the photo. Then I cut a piece of aerobar bubble chipboard in half and placed it under the photo too.

I stapled a few of the layers down and then added the tassel and the Little Birdie pearl petites flowers.
For the title, I used a mixture of chipboard word, handwriting and puffy alpha stickers

Then I added the other embellishments - flair button, wooden star button, stamens, enamel dots, resin flowers, faceted enamel dots, enamel heart, sequins and washi tape.

I hope you've enjoyed this layout and will give something similar a go yourself.

Here are the embellishments I used and you can find them at the store:

puffy alpha stickers
washi tape
sequins
twine (from JAP packaging)

Take care and I will see you around soon

Nicolee x
