Today I'm sharing another layout that I created at a recent retreat weekend. This one documents our Fathers Day celebrations from earlier this year.
I knew I wanted to make some oversize banners to layer under my photo so I started there. I also added one of the stunning lace doilies as a photo mat. I felt it was a little stark and needed something to pull it all together so I added the rectangle of hand stitching which I think did the trick to perfection. After deciding on the placement for my title it was time to embellish!
My largest cluster used one of the gorgeous Wild Roses as my feature. I then added some other paper flowers, resin, and a flair and journal round from a past 'Just Add Paper' kit. The small roses were actually white as I didn't have the right raspberry colour in my stash. I simply used an ink pad to stamp off some ink onto a craft sheet before spritzing it with a little water to make a watercolour of sorts. I then just painted it onto the flowers with a waterbrush and they turned out great!
My smaller cluster used a tab from a past 'Just Add Paper' kit, more paper flowers, resin and a defining words flair. To finish off my page I used some of the left over 'watercolour ink' to add some light splatters before adding a few glitter resin dots and it was done!
I hope you enjoyed my layout share for today.
