Raquel Bowman - Design Team Share

Raquel's Blog: A Blessed Life

Hello everyone,

Today I am here to share a few layouts I have created using my D-lish Scraps goodies. Sadly this will be my last Design Team post with D-lish Scraps before the new lucky Design Team members take over.

I can truly say that I have LOVED every minute of being on this team! The support and generosity of Amanda and the other Design Team girls is like no other. PLUS, lucky me has been given the chance to play with absolutely gorgeous supplies every month.

One of my favourite this has been oogling the gorgeous new supplies in store and then waiting with much anticipation for the goodies to hit my mail box. D-lish mail day always is such fun as the products seem to immediately inspire me to get creating. Here are few of my goodie box mail days. Doesn't it make you want to rush to the D-lish Store and fill your cart with such awesome embellies?!?

Anyways - time to share some creations!
My first layout is one I created for Jot Magazine. I was itching to use the gorgeous sequin heart and new canvas pick and place bows. To create the background of this layout, I actually typed my wedding vows onto plain cardstock in grey to coordinate with the colours of the layout and to suit the actual theme also.

D-lish Products used:

Other:
Paper: White cardstock, Black Cardstock, My Minds Eye patterned paper, AC Amy Tangerine patterned paper, Glitz Design patterned paper.
Alphabet: Silhouette Studio cut files.
Embellishments: Websters Pages Transparency, Bitty Chevron Bag, Handmade Vellum tag, American Crafts glitter tape.
Other: Sewing Machine and white thread, Grey Gelato, Black india ink, Date Stamp, Black Archival Ink.

Here is a close up of the stunning sequin heart and also one of the natural mini pegs which I covered with a black glitter tape that I had in my stash.

Aren't these new 'pick and place canvas bows' just to die for!?! One of my fave embellies lately is a bow and these are so cute. I simply attached it with my Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher. I have also used white bitty blooms and a few Freckled Fawn enamel dots.

The second layout I have to share is another one I created for Jot Magazine. The D-lish goodies on this layout really finish it off, thats certainly what I love about them!

Other Products Used:
Paper: White Card stock, Teresa Collins patterned paper, Carta Bella patterned paper, Fancy Pants patterned paper.

Embellishments: A Piece of Cake Designs Cherry Flair button,  Carta Bella stickers, Studio Calico printables, Studio Calico wood veneer, sequins, Doily, paperclip and ribbon.
Other: Typewriter, Becky Higgins date stamp, Black Archival Ink, Sewing machine and white thread, Studio Calico Mint Julep Mister Huey Mist, Tim Holtz tiny attacher and staples.

I was aiming to keep this layout sweet and 'light, the D-lish resin matched my colourings perfectly.

Can you tell how much I love the Pick and Place Canvas bows and the Freckled Fawn enamel dots!?!

The last page I have to share is one I created just for fun of my little girl. I just love love these photos. One of these photos is my absolute fave as she was clapping and just so happy. I love the others also as it shows how 'busy' she is all the time. She will never just sit there, there is always something she is playing with or getting stuck into, lol.
For this layout share I want to show just how perfect D-lish Scraps goodies can finish off a layout. For this layout all I basically used was a selection of papers, an alpha sheet and my D-lish box of goodies.
Here is how this layout came to be:
* I started by misting and using modelling paste on my background and allowing to dry. I then layered my papers, photos and added my title.

* Then I added some machine stitching

* I then delved into my D-lish Scraps box of goodies in search of coordinating products. I know there is a lot there, I am truly addicted!

* This is what I found to match. When I create I always dig through my stash to find embellishments that may work on the page I am creating.

*Then I started embellishing my page.

The new Journal It's - Bubble Words are quite versatile. I used one for its intended purpose. And another one I cut off bottom so it formed an over and used it as a label.

* I planned to use the Mini Sequin Jar - Hearts - Hot Pink  and was going to create some kind of pocket for them. Then I had a wild idea of gluing them on individually. Lucky I had my Clever Sequin Pick-up Pencil

* The pencil and a bit of glossy accents works a treat :)

Here is the finished layout :)
