Handmade embellishments from D-lish ...

I am taking over the blog today to share with you all a new layout I have just completed. I thought I would also share some ideas for some simple handmade embellishments using D-lish products.

First up I'll show you how super easy it is to make your own glass picture pebbles.

You'll need some dimensional magic (or glossy accents), some glass cabochons, some scrapbooking paper (here I have used a die cut from the range I was working with) and a metal cabochon frame.

Add a few drops, seriously less is more, of the dimensional magic to the back of the glass cabochon and then  press it down onto your paper. It will slide a bit but it will eventually sit in place. If you use too much dimensional magic it will squelch out the sides and just make it more difficult to cut out later. Leave to dry for about 5-10 minutes and then trim around the outside. The edges don't have to be perfect as the dome in the glass hides them beautifully. Then simply glue it into the metal cabochon frame and this is the result:

A gorgeous, one of a kind embellishment that literally took minutes to make and matches your page perfectly! I have also successfully made these using washi tape, simply lay a couple of strips of tape down on some photocopy paper and do the same as above. Cabochons and frames are both available instore and start at just 50 cents for a pack of 10!

My next embellishment is even easier than that! You'll need:

I love Helmar 450, it's a great strong bonding glue and the best thing I've found since Pritt 'improved' their formula! Also one of the faceted heart beads (these come in a grab bag of 25 for just 50 cents) and a berry pin which comes on a spindle of 40 for $1.50.

Simply glue the bead onto the shaft of the pin and this is the result:

I'm slightly addicted to making these little heart pins, I think they've appeared on the last 3 or 4 of my pages!

It's also no secret that I'm addicted to washi tape! I love using it on my pages and I think it's product that is so versatile. I used it to cover my scalloped chipboard frame. Simply lay strips of the tape down and then cut around with a sharp knife.

You may even spy a sneak of one of our 5 new twine colours due in store next week!

I also used the washi inside my little peek-a-boo flaps, layered with one of our resin butterflies. These are great value too, a pack of 5 is just 50 cents and we have 8 colours over 2 designs to choose from.

Here is the completed page, it is based on a sketch from the Page Drafts blog. If you love using sketches, you will love this site, they also have a page on facebook here:

Other D-lish products I have used on my page are:

- Cherry Blossoms in mint
- Wild Rose in raspberry
- Old Fashioned Rose in sea green
- A heart pin
- Resin roses from the grab bag

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope I have inspired you to try and make some of your own D-lish-ious embellishments too! Amanda x
