Kindy Graduation | Amanda Lawrence

Hello scrappers!

Today I have the first of my October layouts to share with you all. This one documents the day my daughter graduated from kindy ...

The clothes she was wearing in the photo was where I drew my inspiration from. I dug through my papers till I found some to match and then pulled out a stack of co-ordinating D-lish embellies to play with. Once I had my design and placement sorted, I added some light colour to the background using two shades of pink mist. The lighter was applied with the packaging technique and the darker one to add some splatters.

I added a gorgeous 6" lace doiley as a layer under my main embellishment cluster. Here I used an Elegance Bloom as my feature and balanced it with an assortment of paper flowers. I also added some resin pieces and a camera flair from the 'Click Click' set.

I added a second smaller cluster to the opposite side of the photo with some more of the same embellishments. This also formed the starting point for my title which I ran vertically up the side of the photo. Initially I wanted it to go along the bottom edge but just couldn't make it fit without covering her pretty shoes in the photo. I knew she would want to remember those shoes {which she loved} so had to rethink my plan to make it work.

Last of all I added a final cluster to the bottom right of the layout. I used some more paper and resin flowers as well as a flair from the 'Watercolour Butterflies' set. I finished off this cluster with a sequin bow which is identical to the one she wore on her headband in the photo ... the perfect finishing touch!

Thanks for stopping by, I'll see you all later on in the month with another layout share.

Amanda x
