Today I am here to share my take on our current Inspiration Board - A Touch of Luxe. It's such a stunning colour combo with the added touch of silver for a little opulence.
Here's a look at the finished page before we jump into the details ...
I have to be brutally honest and say I was at a bit of a loss when trying to do this board justice ... I just wasn't sure where to start. After studying the board for probably a little too long, I decided to draw my inspiration from the confetti garland image in the bottom left hand corner.
I rustled through my scraps and pulled out some papers that I felt suited the elements in the board; some silver glitter card, a white woodgrain, a moroccan design in teal and finally a tonal floral to match. I took my 1.5" circle punch and cut a bunch of circles from each paper. Before sticking and handstitching these down in vertical rows, I added some watercolour and splatters to the background.
With so much going on in the background, I chose to keep my embellishments fairly simple for this one. A few paper flowers, flair and some scattered star cabochons worked nicely.
I did add quite a few layers under my photo for interest. Some white tissue paper, a coloured doiley and some journal cards worked nicely together.
I finished my design by colouring a chipboard title with a silver glitter brush marker and layering it on a silver doiley for some added shine.
I hope I have inspired you to give this months board a go ... it really is very lovely!
Thanks for stopping by,
