There's Always Room for Ice Cream | Amanda Lawrence

Hey hey D-lish fans!

Today I am sharing my second designer project for June. This layout is a photo taken Easter last year when we went to Eat Street here in Brisbane. If you haven't been, GO! The best food and atmosphere and better still, it's great for the whole family. Kombi Alley is definitely a highlight after a good meal ... after all ... there's always room for ice cream!

I have to admit, this is not my usual colour combo but I'm really happy with how it turned out. When I bought the papers I loved that floral and for some reason chose red and yellow to compliment it. I started my background with some red and yellow gelatos and the packaging technique. Once dry I added some stenciled hearts with white gesso for a soft look.

I built up lots of layers under my photo for interest using a bitty bag, lace paper doiley and various bits of patterned paper. For my embellishing I used some paper flowers, flair, resin flowers and glitter enamel dots. I also used a polka dot date tab which I layered behind my photo as well.

My main cluster used a red cabbage rose as a feature which I surrounded with a repeat of elements as before. Finally, for my title, I used some red puffy alphas.

I hope you were inspired by today's share!

Till next time,
Amanda x

  1. Awesome! Yes there's always room for ice cream. (Always check the dessert menu first so you know how much to leave room for...) Love the red and yellow combo, so vibrant.
