Hi all. Today I am sharing a quick and simple, but I think striking LO with you.
I love this photo of my daughter playing model so I could play with my camera but I have taken a while to scrap it because I struggle to scrap with the colour red (even though it is my favourite colour). I really wasn't sure how to make the photo work but in the end decided this rustic background would be ideal and went from there.
I actually grunged the background paper up more than it was with bits of ink through a D-lish stencil (the one I used was the pattern quartet - it is small and perfect for this kind of use I find) I also put some inked grungy circles on the page and splattered in around the page. It is all very subtle, but if you look you can see it.
I was originally using white as a background, but it just wasn't doing anything for me. I tried a few colours to work with the red that just were not working when I spied the green doily from the recent JAP kit, "Peach Twist". As soon as I put it on the page (with the messed up gauze) - I knew this was the accent colour I was going to use. It just made the photo pop.
The rest was easy, a gorgeous red willow blossom, some paper flowers and some pip berry stems to make a small but effective cluster. A few glitter dots and glittery resin hearts scattered here and there and voilà - one finished LO.
All in all - I am very happy with this LO and even though the colours scream Christmas - I don't feel it looks too Christmassy.
Hope you enjoy.
Till next time
