Hi all again.
How is everyone enjoying winter? It has finally kicked in here with some dreary and rainy days which means some quiet scrappy time for me. The other day - I opened the blinds wide open (the sun was shining that day) and poured myself a wine and sat down for some well needed scrappy time.
This was one of my creations; I didn't mean to channel my inner summer, but I love how it is so simple yet so bright and fun at the same time.
I started off by using some texture paste with my favourite D-lish stencil double mounted on circle stencil that I whipped up to make these really cool yellow circles on my page. I dried them in between each one with a heat gun to keep them clean looking. I must say, the size of the D-lish stencils makes them ideal for double stencil technique - I encourage you to give it a go.
I then splattered three matching mists all over the page and added some random stamping to mess it all up. (I couldn't have it too clean looking!)
I then added a bright yellow flower and a big vellum star with a resin glitter star from a previous JAP kit as my main cluster. You may notice that I only secured the vellum star with a dot of glue in the middle. I did that because I like the way the star kind of flares up and creates more texture.
I then added some more vellum stars (that I got in a mini kit) and some sequin stars that came in the same JAP kit that the big glitter star came from.
To finish, I cut up a mini journal tag to tuck behind the photo to create my title.
That was it. Like a said, simple, but I think effective.
Hope you enjoy.
