Happy Days | Amanda Lawrence

Hey D-lish fans!
As most of you are aware, earlier this month we had to slightly postpone our 'Peach Twist' JAP kit release as it fell on Easter Sunday. When I found myself completely ready for release 4 days early, temptation got too much and I 'helped' myself to a kit for a play.

The colours and elements in this kit were totally swoon worthy ... how was a girl to resist?!

This is what I came up with ...

Everything used on the layout came from the kit with the exception of media and papers of course.
I began by using the awesome cobblestone mini stencil in the kit with some texture paste. Then to add some colour I used some glimmermists applied with the packaging technique and a little water. Lastly a few splatters with the same colours and my background was done.

I mounted my photo on some lime patterned paper and found two shades of peach scraps from my stash which I tore up and added a few layers here and there. I also added the lime doiley as a layer under the photo too.

Next up was to embellish! I literally pulled everything out of my kit, I cut all the stems off the flowers, cut up the journal tags ready and then went to town placing them on my page.

This cluster had one of the flair, a large white flower, lime cherry blossom, peach forget-me-not, lime resin, two of the wood veneer leaves and one of the glittery resin hearts.

I made a smaller cluster with the 'Happy Days' wood veneer as my title. This was layered on the large journal card. It used the butterfly flair, another lime cherry blossom, peach forget-me-not, the white resin flower, peach tassel and finally another glittery resin heart. I also cut up some of the journal tags and layered them under the left hand edge with a few staples.

This final cluster included my journaling, the wood veneer butterfly disc and then the remainder of the embellishments I had left over.

Finally I added a few strips of the washi to the top right and bottom left of my photo. I also added the date journal tab here and the tiny butterfly which I fussy cut from the other half of the journal tag I used earlier.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my page today and was able to draw some inspiration for using your own 'Peach Twist' kit. If you don't already have one, be sure to pop over to the store and grab yours. They're just $10 each and as you can see, are excellent value for money!

Till next time,
Amanda x
