Today I am sharing with you my take on our newly released Inspiration Board - Boys Rule. This months board is all shades of blue with the added pop of black and white.
Here's my sample layout:
The photo documents the time we saw a Lamborghini just casually parked in the carpark at Westfield. You know ... as you do. My son was beside himself with excitement, so once he was actually able to stand still, of course we snapped a pic!
My first inspiration came from the ombre pencils in the board so I dug out my gelatos and choose a few shades of blue and black. I scribbled a bit of each on my craft mat, spritzed with water and then used a wide dry brush to swipe them across the background. I also added a bit of stamping and some flicks of black, then it was time to embellish!
I used scraps of paper in shades of blue and black to back some star cut files I made on my cameo. Then I finished off with some Wordfetti strips, faceted enamel dots, wood veneer and a flair from the 'Defining Words' set.
The top cluster got a similar treatment though I also added a polka dot date tab at the top of the photo. To finish, I doodled a black line around the photo area to draw the eye in.
We'd love to see your take on this super fun Inspiration Board challenge. Details to enter can be found it the 'Current Inspiration Board and Rules' tab at the top of this blog. And don't forget, you can enter on facebook too!
Can't wait to see how you put your own spin on it!
