My turn back on the blog today and I've chosen to show case another layout that I did with my December advent kit goodies.
I really loved the colours in this kit and am enjoying working with them on different backgrounds.
For this layout I started with a layer of clear gesso and then inking the background.
I really wanted to incorporate black stripes somehow so I found an older washi tape which did the trick. I laid the tape in 5 strips across the layout. This gives it some depth and rigid structure to contrast to the artsy, smoochy, random ink. It was fun to incorporate these two styles and make them work.
Then it was a simple matter of cutting a journal card in triangles, placing the large Creative Cuts words on the page, mangling up the string that held the package together and adding the other embellishments.
...the sewing thread doesn't need to be cut!!
...you can't tell in this shot but I had to deconstruct the flower as it was too bulky, so i added the green-stalky-bit (I'm Mrs Never-throw-anything-away) down the botton, just for interest sake!! Can you see it poking out there? 😂
Here are a list of embellishments used:
Puffy sequined heart
Creative Cuts title (even though I chose to use it as a feature not a title)
All of these products were in the December advent kit and most of them (or similiar) can be purchased in the store here.
Just a reminder of the full layout ..... and then below....
... from my last blog post.
I have used all the same themed embellishments - isn't it amazing how we can create such dramatically different layouts by just changing the background!!
Anyway, take care and enjoy your creating, I'll catch you next time.
All the best
