Hi all! Anthea here again for another share.
My son finally got his Learners Permit to drive. It has taken him a while to get motivated to go for it so when he decided he wanted to try - we got right behind him. He would not let me share this photo on social media at the time but did say that I could share it if it was in a scrapbook page......well.....I wasn't going to say no to that!
I think it is fairly clear that my whole colour scheme is based around those L Plates. Yellow and black - the two most visible contrasting colours out there. I guess they really want you to know there is a learner out there. I wanted to tame the contrast of the two colours down a little and decided a lighter shade of green would be ideal.
I then just started laying down scrappy goodies that I thought would work with my LO. I didn't think too much about it and played until the LO felt right. I knew that I wanted to use that smiley face from a previous D-Lish JAP kit and it was going to be the focus of my LO (other than the photo), so I worked around that. Firstly I added some painted chipboard cogs and then added some wood veneer chevrons, sequins, punchinella, resin hearts, cut up cardfetti pieces, and glitter enamel dots.
I then concentrated on my title. I have used this technique before and love how it looks a little grungy - but not too gungy. I simply grabbed some wood veneer alphas and wrapped some wire around them. I added some more glitter dots and some black faceted enamel dots (I love how these reflect the light).
To finish it all off I added another cluster in the corner with more of the same goodies to bring it all together. I still didn't like how it was all working and found by simply drawing a frame around the LO it brought it all together.
I really love how this LO came together. It is a bit 'brighter' IRL - but not a whole lot and the colours and tone really suits my boy a lot.
I hope you have enjoyed my creation and look forward to seeing some of yours in The Scrap Suite. The October Monthly CC is currently running and the prize this month is another gorgeous kit.
Till next time.
