"Happiness is..." by Tamara Buckler

Hello again scappers,

Well, I'm here to share with you today a layout that I created at the recent "Create by the Lake" Scrapbook retreat! I tell you what, there is something about being kid free, surrounded by other creatives, and having endless amounts of time, that really frees up your mojo!

I love this page for its relaxed almost vintage feel, and of course for all the yummy D-lish goodies on there!

The green floral paper is one I've had in my stash for ages, and it really directed the rest of this page. Isn't this heirloom flower just beautiful? It really pick up on that floral vintage feel.

I got my cross-stitch on with the Wood Veneer Stitchable Heart, isn't it just so sweet! And added some delicate little mini roses, and a flair button to finish off the cluster.

Some more mini roses and a super cute Corbett Creations bow to balance off the page, and voila, its done!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my layout! Make sure you let me know of any more scrap retreats I should be attending, cant wait to go again!

Big Loves,
Tam x

'Hello Spring' by Rachel Dutko

Hi everyone

If you saw my previous post you might start to
notice a theme happening here!
I'm not a fan of winter, and I'm pining for the nicer weather!

Today my layout is 'Hello Spring', and is a photo of my
backyard from last year. I look forward to the sunshine and blossom appearing again in a couple of month's time!

I started with a mixed media background
of paint, stencilling and stamping.

I was so glad to see the lace doilies back in the shop, and I have
used several different sizes within my paper layers.
I also layered some bright green punchinella.

In my clusters I have used a wild rose, tea roses

I have also used a sequin bow, and a printed wood veneer heart.

My title is puffy alphabet stickers and some ombre wordfetti
I've added a couple of other words from the same
ombre wordfetti sheet, and a Wordfetti quote.

I've finished off the page by scattering some resin glitter dots
and enamel dots.

Sequin Bow

Thanks for looking

'U found ur voice' by Nicolee Cable

Hi D-lish friends!

Happy FRI-YAY!
Today I want to show you a layout I created to
celebrate hubby finding his niche and starting up a new venture.

The background paper is perfect as it relates to him perfectly
(all about words!).

To start this layout off, I painted the background paper with
Colour Crush watercolours stripes. I also used these same
Colour Crush watercolours to splatter and then spray
water on the white card stock.
This created the beautiful mixture of greens and blues.
I then used the Kinder Kreations solid stars as templates to
cut stars out of the blue and green patterns and then inked around the edges.

I then painted the Creative Cuts Geometric Stars and
midnight Colour Blast Colour Shimmer Dust.

Once all the stars were cut
I then layered my custom made stars, the chipboard stars and
the cut file stars on top of the Creative Cuts frame (star overload!).

To define the frame I sewed with black thread around the edges.

The twisted black wire was used to frame the photo and then stapled on.

I added glitter dots and faceted enamel dots to give pops
of colour and glitter.

...and finished off with at least one black flower!

Here is a list of the D-lish products I used:

I hope you've enjoyed this layout and would love
to see what you've created as well.

Take care and have a wonderful weekend.

"Moment In Time" by Julianne McKenna

Welcome back to the D-Lish blog! It's Julianne here today, sharing another layout. My daughter loves to colour her hair, so this layout is simply titled "Moment In Time" because by tomorrow, it could be another colour. One day it's turquoise, the next day it's red! Or pink. Or silver. You get the picture.

I decided to play with blue and white colouring for something a little different, and to match my daughter's hair. Fortunately, D-Lish has lots of gorgeous blue products in the store - from flowers, to journalling spots, to sequin bows

I have used a raw veneer frame to highlight my photo, which I have coloured with blue ink, and decorated with white pearls. If you look closely, you can see that I have highlighted both the heart, and the corner of the frame with pearls. I have also added the pearls to the Creative Cuts circles which frame both the top and bottom of the photo.

Don't you just love these little sequin bows? And they come in so many colours! They are the perfect size, and look so cute on a layout. Yes, I am addicted to them.

And don't you just love the result of the 5 x 5 rose stencil and glitter texture paste (thank-you BoBunny for such an amazing product). I've always loved stencils because they are so versatile - you can use them with texture paste, pan pastels, inks, paints, pencils, sprays, and the list goes on.

What do you do when you have a paper doily that has been accidentally cut in half? Why, you use one half at each end of the layout! It has helped to tie the layout together very nicely. Plus doilies are also a great opportunity to layer - I've added a journalling spot, carnations, and small roses

Have you seen the new Creative Cuts that are in store? They are so fun to use. You can leave them white, decorate them with pearls, rhinestones and Kindy Glitz, or ink/spray/paint them totally different colours. Come to think of it, you could also use them as a reverse stencil, and spray them to create a negative shape. But be quick - they are flying out of the store.

For me, a layout is not complete without flowers. In this case, I have used rosebuds, carnations, small roses, elegance blooms, and cabbage roses. And for something a little extra, I have highlighted some of the flowers with Kindy Glitz, just for a little sparkle.

Thank-you for stopping by and joining me today. I hope we see you back here soon.

"Snap an Elfie" by Lauren Tomecek

Hi everyone,
I was feeling in a bit of a rut with my scrapbooking, like every page was starting to look the same. So for this layout, I decided to take things in a totally different direction: multiple photos, absolutely nothing in the centre of my page. I love the result and feel refreshed. Don't be afraid to try something new every now and then, you might just like it. ;)

As soon as my son got invited to an 'elves and fairies' birthday party, I knew I was going to want to use this flair on the layout! Just when I thought enamel dots couldn't get better, I find there are GLITTER D-lish Dots, I was in heaven. I have used Kinder Kreations frames on the smaller photos, inked in charcoal ink. You can't go past a basic white doily, or two, in the background.

My title comes from Corbet Creations chipboard and originally read 'selfie', but I love a good pun. ;) The wooden star buttons matched the wooden/natural feel I wanted for the layout. The green leaves came from a mixed grab bag, but they seem to be out of stock at the moment. I also used the puffy alphabet stickers for my title.

Thanks for having a look. Please share your project with us at the Scrap Suite if you do decide to create something out of your comfort zone.

"Turning Ten" by Gwen Wruck

Hi Creative friends,

I hope you are all well!  Gwen, with you today to share a fun birthday inspired page.

This one features Miss Caitlin on her 10th birthday which was in January of this year and I have yet to scrap a single photo!!  We had a whole day of celebrations starting with some school friends at a local "Bounce Inc" trampoline play centre.   This is a quick snap I took before we all got jumping, such fun!

I began this page by selecting out some key elements I know I wanted to use, such as the chipboard balloons and the cute yellow deer from the Resin Embellishments.  I then decided to take the bright colours from these to make up the colour combo of my page.  I wanted everything to be bright and happy for this one.

I started with a plain pale pink background so that the bright elements I added would really pop!  First I began creating my photo mat, which consists of lots of layers of paper and a teal striped paper baggie.  This one was a 5 x 7 bag, which I have simply trimmed to fit my photo mat.

Next, it was time to lock in the design of the layout, I started with my title as I knew it was going to be pretty large.  That combined with the photo mat I had just made needed to be decided on before I went about adding the smaller details.  I just laid everything out and shuffled until I was happy.

Next, it was time to get working on some embellishment clusters.  I have positioned two wooden hearts to the left of my photo to start.  I have used so many of these Wooden Hearts, they go with everything right?!# These have been painted with some Colour Blast Water Colour Shimmer cubes in "Sunshine".  I then created a larger cluster to the right of my photo and another one towards the top of the page.  To decide these, I just tried to balance out the balloons, the title and my photo.

I've also used some Jewelled Cabochons - these are super cute and that pink/purple colour is divine!  Once I was happy with the clusters, I added a few splattered drops of watered down white paint just to soften the harshness between that super clean pink background and the embellishments.  Now was also a good time to add the final touch, some Enamel Dots.

I'll leave you with one more close up of all the paper layers and that cute little deer!

I'm sure you all have photos of birthday celebrations yet to scrap, so I hope this layout inspires you to pull them out.

Creative Cards | Michelle Stokes

Hi Everyone, It's Michelle back here today with my newest creative share.

For this post I thought I'd do something different to my usual, by using remnants of the current and past Just add Paper kits to make some more cards for my ever growing collection. I've got quite the collection happening, as I keep forgetting to give them out!

All up I've made 5 different cards using kits and bits from my other D-lish stash. Here's a closer look

For the first set of cards I've used the March 2017 Pretty in Pink kit on the left ... and the current Primrose Lane kit on the right. The card on the left uses the flowers, vellum butterflies and twine from the kit along with the addition of a 4inch lace doily, Creative Cuts "Leaves", a pink Carnation, an Ombre Worfetti piece and some glitter dots

The card on the right is made from the flowers, journal it, white leaf that I've cut into, and twine from the kit along with a doily, wordfetti piece and enamel dots like the other card. I stuck with similar design elements for each of the cards to keep them simple and easy to put together.

Here's a look at the 2 kits used for the above cards to refresh your memory...

Next up I've used the December 2016 Peaches & Cream kit and the February 2017 Fresh Cut. I didn't have a lot of the Peaches and Cream kit left to create a generic form of card, so I've used the Journal It pieces, twine, a rose and a veneer arrow that I coated in glitter paste. To bulk up the card Ive used the same doily as the other cards, a flair button, 2 paper flowers from Little Birdie sets, a pick n place bow, ombre wordfetti and enamel glitter dots

The card on the right is made up of loads of goodies from the Fresh cut kit, I hadn't had a chance to create with it just yet so I had a full kit to play with! I kept the pip berry stem in its circular form and placed it over the doily from my other D-lish stash. I tied the twine around the cardstock piece and attached in place to keep it secure. I arranged the flowers in the bottom right of the circle, and added a flair from the kit as a 5th element to the cluster. Lastly I added a ombre wordfetti strip and some enamel dots to match.

Here's another look at the 2 kits featured in these cards...

Last card of the bunch was made using pieces from the Peacock Avenue kit from November 2016. In addition to the kit contents ( crochet feather, twine, sequins, washi tape, flair and large purple flower) I've added my favourite Forget me nots, a scribble circle Creative Cut, doily, Wordfetti piece, enamel dots and ribbon from my stash.

Here's one last look at the kit for reference ..

And lastly a look at all the cards together, showing how similar yet different they all are.

I really enjoyed making and sharing something a little different this week! I hope its given you some form of inspiration.

Until next time, happy Scrapping!
