"Hello - You Are My Happy" by Rachel Dutko

Hi everybody!
Rachel back with you today, sharing my layout

"Hello - You Are My Happy"

I can't help but smile seeing this happy, laughing little face!

I mixed up some paint for my background, then once that was dry
I could add some awesome D-lish embellishments!

I've used a 5x7 bag as a layer under my photo.
I've used an amazingly thick Corbett Creations wood veneer word 'hello' for my title, as well as some Ombre Wordfetti as highlights around the page.

I've also added some Corbett Creations wood veneer circles and some
Kinder Kreations Aerobar chipboard circle clusters.
I painted these all with acrylic paint.

And yes I've added some flowers to a boy layout - a Wild Rose and Tea Roses. I've also added a sequin bow, a tassel from a Just Add Paper kit, a flair button, some resin star buttons and some coloured wire.

'Friendship of a lifetime' - by Nicolee Cable

Hi all.
I hope you're having a good week and are not too busy with EOFY.
If you do happen to be in that industry (as I am),
I hope you've been able to break away and relax with some
creative time using your D-lish goodies.

I've been having a play with the latest Just Add Paper (JAP) kit "Indigo Glitz"
and am going to share my creation.
This is a photo of my mum and some very dear old friends
who have made such an impact on my parents lives, very special people.

Firstly I 'traced' the shape of the heart stencil with a white crayon.
I did this multiple times across the page, flipping the shape to create some visual interest.
I then watercoloured an ombre blue background and
added some textured hearts (using an old D-lish mini heart stencil).
The blue water colour really makes the pink hearts stand out and look quite striking.

I added small strips of washi tape - just cos!
Then I gutted the silver loveheart doilie (yes, I took the guts out of it)!
I found it was a little too heavy and felt that the silver heart as a frame
was more effective.

I placed this behind the photo and then layered my embellishments around it.

The large blue elegance bloom flower was a little too large for this layout,
so I took off the leaves and the larger petals and cascaded a few down the page.

I used the journal card to back the photo and it framed it
really nicely and then i placed the other JAP embelishments around the photo.

Here is a list of the embelishments from the JAP kit that I used:

silver glitter adhesive tape
flair button
large heart stencil
journal card
wood veneer heart (Corbett Creations)
salmon pink double layered flowers
elegance bloom (royal blue)
silver resin glitter heart
fabric bow
silver heart shaped doilie
royal blue tassel
lace butterfly patch
mini aluminium flower

Like I've said before, if you haven't got yourself a JAP kit - you gotta get one!
When you're pressed for time, they make creating a layout
super easy and it looks a million dollars (for a fraction of that price!).

Happy scrapping and I'll see you next time.

Nicolee xx

"Always Be A Queen" by Julianne McKenna

Welcome to the D-Lish blog! It's Julianne joining you today, and sharing another layout brimming with D-Lish goodies.  Today I've gone all out with layering, texture, and details.

Sometimes we need to remind ourselves that we are in control of our lives - and that is what "Always A Queen" is about. I created this layout to remind me not to let life get the better of me, or to let it get me down, but instead to be strong and seize the day. Life is what you make it!

As you can see, there are lots of layers and little details in this layout. I started with a 5x5 stencil (brick wall) as my base, then layered strips of paper and washout tape to create a textured background.

Once the texture paste was completely dry, I flicked gold and brown spray mists over the layout to create a splattered background.

Flowers. I just can't live without them. There are so many colours and varieties to choose from in the store - have you checked them out recently? I have used small paper roses, carnations and cabbage roses, in shades of light and dark pink. Both the cabbage roses and carnations are new in store - check them out before they are all gone!

I have added doilies to add more texture and detail. I love doilies as they are so versatile - you can cut them down to smaller sizes, you can colour them, you can use them as a base for an embellishment, and many other things.

Finally, I thought I would finish with a couple of cute raw wood veneer shapes. I have used an owl, which I left uncoloured, and a crown which I inked with pink ink, added rhinestones, and coated with glitter. How cute are they both?

Thank-you for stopping by and joining me today. I hope you have found a little inspiration from today's share. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Champs by Lauren Tomecek

Hello hello! I took part in a basketball tournament this past weekend and it made me a bit nostalgic for my junior playing days. You know, the ones where you wouldn't hurt so much just waking up the day after a game? ;) Anyway, just because D-lish Scraps have such a beautiful range of flowers doesn't mean I need to include them in every layout. So here is a no-flower layout featuring my favourite colour - Orange!

I started by swiping some gesso over the background to tone it down a bit. Then decided to add some texture and interest. I mixed texture paste with some mist ink and some microbeads from a past Just Add Paper kit, then spread it over a star stencil.

I ripped up an orange Bitty Bag and placed it behind my photos. The washi tape also comes from a past Just Add Paper kit. My title is made from puffy alphabet stickers.

I couldn't go past the 'memory' flair button, given these photos are now 16 years old! I feel so old myself now. The orange coloured wire was really easy to shape into a star and provide a bit of extra interest.

I really like using these arrow paperclips as an accent and the blue resin glitter dots just finished it off perfectly.

Thanks for checking out my work today!

"Seriously Gorgeous" by Gwen Wruck

Hi Creative friends,

Gwen here back on the blog today to share another sweet page of Miss C.  I am totally crushing on this photo, so serious!!  We were doing a bit of a photo shoot as she had just gotten new glasses so I took a stack of photos and by the time this one was taken she had had enough and was starting to pull faces!!! As it turns out, this one is one of my favourites!

I went with a relatively simple design for the page with a white background and pops of colours with some splatters.  I purchased these AMAZING new super shimmery Colour Simmer cubes Watercolours from Colour Blast at the Scrapbook Expo and I so love them!! I've used Blush, Lipstick and Envy on this layout.  I combined these with some mists from my stash and love the result.

Next I went about making my photo mat and used a couple of layers of paper, keeping things pretty simple and clean so as not to compete with that background.  I then adding in a Bitty Bag at the top of my photo as I knew I wanted to extend some embellishments up that way and these are a great starting point for that.  As soon as I saw the lower case Puffy Alpha Stickers in store, I knew I had to get some, I SO SO love this font!!  It was also the perfect hint of green I needed for this page.  I have combined these alphas with a Kinder Kreations Chipboard chipboard piece for my title.

I've also used more vellum Butterflies, I found these in the Past Kit Bit section along with the pink puffy heart.  It is always worth a look in store at this section; you never know what you will find!  Now you all know my love affair with bows... this layout needed a little pop of black so the Gingham Bow was perfect.

I've also used a Little Birdie paper flower here in the most divine shade of pink.  There are a few varieties of these in store, so be sure to check those out.  You can also see here a little sneak of the Wood Beads which you will find in the clearance section, another MUST visit section when you are shopping!

and that's the layout done.  I hope you enjoyed all the close ups and I hope it inspires you to make something pretty!

You & Me | Michelle Stokes

Hi Everyone, it's Michelle back here again with a new layout share. For this layout I've chosen to follow along with our current Inspiration board, combining both the colours and the sketch to create a layout that has become one of my new favourites.

I had to dip into my mixed pattern papers stash for the background border and the pieces of silver dot paper, but the remainder of the products used are all from the D-lish shop.

You can read all about the current Inspiration board HERE, but for now here's a look at the layout I created..

I ended up turning the sketch on its side and following along with a similar design, but adding way more embellishments than I was planning on. Always the way! LOL

I drew inspiration from the circular elements, the floral 'clusters' and definitely the middle layer of the cake... YUM!

In the main cluster of the layout I've combined 2 different flowers - Magnolias & forget-me-not, a sequin bow, flair button, a journal it, creative cuts, Kinder Kreations geometric heart, Glitter enamel dots and 2 pieces from a past Just add paper kit - the Tassel & veneer heart that I've covered in glitter.

I repeated the smaller flowers down on the bottom layer along with another veneer heart covered in glitter, enamel dots and a strip of washi also from the JAP kit.

Another Creative Cuts piece used for a title, popped up off the page with my hot glue gun and roughly drawn around the edge for a little definition..

For the top of the photo area I've used more repetition of products combined in the other clusters, with the inclusion of a Bitty Bow clip and a journal it tab that I've had in my stash for as long as I've been a DT member (which is a very very long time in some books lol)

And lastly a printed tag with hidden journalling, tucked under the photo and a white lace doily peeking out from underneath too.

Well that's all from me today. Be sure to share with us if you create something inspired by our Inspiration Board. Remember it doesn't necessarily have to be a layout, it can be a card, home decor item, OTP project or even a Project Life spread. As long as you stick with the colour palette then you're good to go! Here's the LINK again to the main Inspiration Board post incase you missed it earlier.

Until next time, happy Scrapping!
Michelle x

"Selfie" by Julie Pearce

Hello again,
I'm back today sharing another layout I have created using some gorgeous D-lish Scraps products.
This page is my youngest daughter who loves taking snapchat selfies on my phone.
I really love this photo of her.
I have used lots of D-lish goodies on my page.
I started off with some texture paste and water colour to my background.
And then added some yellow tissue paper from a previous kit behind my photo.
I added a pink doily behind my photo before I stuck it down.
Then added my flower cluster with some gorgeous D-lish flowers, Blue cabbage rose, Hot pink star flower and Yellow double layered flower. I then used a journal it from the Sugar and Spice wordfetti.
On the top corner of my photo I added another Wordfetti journal it and a Wood veneer camera.

And lastly I added a butterfly flair and my title Selfie wood veneer and some D-lish enamel dots.
Make sure you check out D-lish Scraps store for lots of beautiful things for your layouts.

Catch you next time

'First Swim' by Amanda Lawrence

Hello lovelies!
Our June cybercrop kicked off over in the Scrap Suite on Friday night and despite it being a pretty crazy weekend commitment wise, I did manage to sneak in enough scrappy time to complete a layout ;)

The challenges are super cool this month ... well they always are lol but Anthea's 'Get Messy' challenge was the one I wanted to tackle first.

I'm not really a messy scrapper as such, in fact I prefer to admire from afar, but I have vowed to delve into my mediums instead of just collecting the pretty colours so here goes ...

Like I said, I'm not an overly media heavy scrapper but they're there and I wanted the effect to be subtle.

I began by watering down a little bit of colour spray and then used the packaging technique to create a watercolour background. The leftover mist I flicked on with a brush which created the darker spots.
Next I used some colour paste with the abstract waves 5x5 stencil to create the watery feel.

The base of my layers were the super cool bubbles design creative cuts from the store.

After adding some layers of patterned papers, doilies and my photo I went to town with my D-lish bits and pieces adding clusters of flowers, resin, flair and a sequin bow.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see your take on one of the challenges in the Scrap Suite soon!

"Adored" by Jasmine Shea

Hello hello.

Thanks for stopping by.

I have created a page about my daughter to share with you today.
She reminds me so much of myself as a young girl.  Always happy in her own company.
The photo quality wasn't perfect for this snap but I was hiding around a corner and had to zoom in with my "old" phone to take the photo.
It captured the moment and that's what I was after.

I have added so many gorgeous D-lish Scraps pieces.
They are just so easy to co-ordinate by colour, style or you can just keep adding and layering the pieces.
It's actually quite hard to stop.... I just have to back away from my page very very slowly....lol.

A couple of close ups to capture the D-lish goodness!

Don't forget to pop over to The Scrap Suite to join in this month's Cybercrop Challenges.
The prize packs are just gorgeous.
