'Five Years Ago' by Belinda Griffin

Hi All,

Belinda back with you today to share my last layout for 2016. Where has the year gone?!

Today's layout features one of my favourite easy backgrounds- washi tape mosaics! I've used two washi tapes from past kits and another two purchased from the store- all conveniently colour co-ordinated.

I simply cut pieces of washi tape off at random angles and fit them together loosely to form a fun mosaic pattern.

Keeping the mosaic spread out on the corners and then thinning them out towards the photo helped draw the eye to the photo on an otherwise busy layout.

Along with the silver foil washi tape I decided I wanted to add some extra metallics so went with one of the gold mini bags in behind my photo, along with the piece of tissue paper from a past kit and a doily; and some puffy alphas and chipboard covered with gold ink.

With such a busy background I wanted to keep my embellishments fairly simple to ensure the page didn't look too overdone. The black heirloom flower matched perfectly with the black washi tape, and the flair added an extra pop of white over the piece of ephemera from the past Plus One kit. Of course no layout is complete without a sequin bow so a white one to add just a little hint of extra sparkle was perfect with my other black and white embellishments.

The fun grey felt arrow from the Plus One kit to help my title stand out, and few last pops of colour with some enamel dots and this layout was complete!

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Have a wonderful holiday season, see you all next year!
