"Innocence" By Tracey Wright

Hi,  I'm back again this month to share with you all my layout l have created for D-lish Scraps.

I love this photo that l have used of my daughter taken at one of our favourite beaches. It seems so long ago she was this little. Just can't believe she is off to High School next year.

With my layout this month, l have added lots of different types of textures.
Hope you like it.

With my layout l wanted this photo to pop off the page, with the pink paint in the background, and my daughters pink sun hat. I  love  how it goes well with a touch of aqua and gold.

I have used past pieces from a JAP Kit to create my layout.
In this picture the top left hand corner of my page l have added a Gold Doiley, a Wood Veneer Embroidery Hoops, which l have painted with some pink paint. I  made a little cluster in the top corner of my photo, and used a Flair Button, from a past JAP Kit, with a Cherry Blossom Flower, and also a Green Tara Tutu Flower .

I then added some little Butterflies l had in my stash, with some Aqua Prills, and also tucked in under the Doiley, l used a Lace Journal Spot from a past kit.

With this little cluster l made, l used a mixture of flowers, a Cherry Blossom, Medium Roses, and some little Blue Small Roses.
I also used a tassel from a past JAP Kit, that l added just under my flowers at the bottom of my photo.
And not to forget l popped a little Journal It  tab under my photo too.

I like to add some layers of Washi Tape on my layouts, which l added to this layout and placed just under my photo. Also l added a  Journal It Strip, which l put the date on it so l could remember this day.
I also used on my layout around my page some of these gorgeous Resin Glitter Dots, that l can't seem to get enough of, l just want some more for my stash. They are lovely to use on a layout just to compliment your page.

So thats all for me this month. Thanks for popping by to checkout what l have been up to. I hope l have Inspired you to be able to create something lovely.

See you next time

All of me by Sarah Rosse

Hello scrappy friends, Sarah here for my second layout for the month of October for D-lish Scraps!
I created the background of this layout using watercolours, Heidi Swapp Colour Shine in Ocean and yellow acrylic paints. My inspiration for using these colours was the gorgeous August special release 'A Sprinkle of Sweet' Just Add Paper (JAP) kit that can be purchased in store. If you're lucky there may still be some of these kits left in stock or you can purchase your favorite elements from the kit instore here.
The blue and yellow tones within this kit was perfect for this picture of my youngest son! It not only complimented the blue in his outfit, but the primary colours in his little bike.
Coupled with gold embellies, such as the foiled flair, I was in LOVE! The flair that says "All of me loves all of you" was just divine and the inspiration for the title of this layout! For this and the huge range of flair buttons in store, click here.
I painted the veneer scalloped frame with acrylic paint and the tissue paper, gold diagonal striped bitty bag, diagonal striped gold washi tape and some punchinella from my stash was used to create a photo mat for the photo.
The die cut journal cards were a nice touch here to layer behind the photo. I added a cluster of embellishments - paper and resin flowers, turquoise sequin bow, and my favourite - that wooden veneer XO [swoon!], all from the 'A Sprinkle of Sweet' JAP kit to the layout. The wide range of wooden veneer can be purchased in store by clicking here.
I added some gold Heidi Swapp Colour Shine splatters to the background to complete the layout.
Here are some close up shots;

Thanks for joining me and I hope you enjoyed my layout!

"Game On" & "Beautiful" by Nicolee Cable

Got some time on your hands?
Feeling a little left out that you haven't got the latest cut-files or the machines to make them?
Want something on your layouts that's unique?

Why not make some handmade cut-files?

I'm going to show you two layouts where I've done just that!

Firstly 'Game On'

I've taken a stencil that I made ages ago (and yes, it was well used!)
and traced it on to white card stock (straight lines are easier).

then I cut it out...

and then stuck some strips of black card stock randomly behind it.

To make the background, I stencilled some texture paste mixed with blue
shimmer dust on to the white card stock, splattering a little powder here and
there to make it not so stark and a little mottled.

These days, I always cut a piece of random card board and stick
it under my photos to create depth.

then I gather my D-lish supplies that I think could work with this colour layout:

left over flair from previous JAP kit
arrow from the October JAP kit
left over scraps from previous JAP kits

...then I had fun putting this layout together.
I only used tiny bits of black punchinella and chopped them into little stars, cute ey!?!

...I anchored the ombre wordfetti with the
silver wash tape behind it and made the cut-file stand out by tracing around it.
And of course, another standard for me - ink/paint splatter!

I'm really happy with how this monochromatic layout turned out
with my own unique cut-file arrows!

Then I tried it with a floral stencil!!!

You need a sharp blade and a lot of time and patience for this fussy-cutting one!

I chose some of the flowers to trace around and then cut individual flowers out.

Here I show both the arrows and the flowers once cut.

Then I found some cute patterned papers to put behind the flowers.

...and here's my final layout "Beautiful" once I added and arranged all my D-lish goodies.

Most of the items used were from the September JAP kit
but you can find similar items in the D-lish store here:

wooden pegs (from the packaging)

This is a layout that's quite out of my comfort zone and different from my normal style but I'm happy with how it turned out.

It just goes to show, you don't have to have all the latest gadgets and machines to have on-trend elements on your layouts.

Just make sure you add some D-lish goodness and you'll always be set for a fantastic creation to add to your album.

I hope you've enjoyed these two layouts and I'll catch you next time.

Have a great Friday!

Beanie Boos | Michelle Stokes

Hello Crafty Friends!! I hope you're enjoying your week so far!
I'm here today with a new layout share featuring all of my D-lish favourites - a Stitchable heart, Circle Journal It spots, paper flowers, Lace Doilies, a Sequin Bow, plus Glitter & Enamel dots and a couple of extras..

The photo I'm sharing today is super cute, and helps to document another little part of Leila's story as a 5 year old.. She absolutely LOVES these Beanie Boos, and so do I. Can't help but collect them ALL

I've gathered all my D-lish goodies, along with some papers from the Make A Wish Collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio. The colours of the papers and embellishments really help to make the photo pop.

Lets take a closer look..

I Love to layer different items to create clusters. Here I've used a Journal It spot, Veneer Hearts {not in stock}, Glitter dot, Enamel dots/shapes and stickers from the collection used.

I kept the photo stack pretty simple with just a couple of pattern papers, torn along the bottom for some extra texture, a pretty Lace Doily and a Minifetti strip

How cool are these new Puffy Alpha's? So bright and fun! Perfect finishing touch to a page for a big title.

The bottom cluster is made up of multiple layers of pattern paper and embellishment pieces repeated from around the page.

Quite a few lines of journalling added to the page using my trusty {really should be replaced} typewriter.

And lastly here's a closer look at the main cluster of the page. I've stitched the heart in 2 different colours to accentuate the heart shape, rather than the cross stitch I've used on previous hearts. Then added some extra thread to the top in a bow. You can see I've added in a third Circle Journal It spot, plus more Glitter & Enamel dots. More often than not, I use repetition of embellishments around the page in either a diagonal design or a visual triangle. This draws focus around the page, and back to the photo. I've also added some of my favourite paper flowers {pastel petals & Forget me nots} and a Sequin bow. Fun!

That's all from me today. Thanks so much for stopping by!
Until next time, Happy Scrapping!!

"#epic" by Malinda Gardner

Hi everyone,
Malinda here with a share of a page I've done using some of the new products at D-lish; a page about our day at Rotovegas (Rotorua) in New Zealand. Have you been there? It's very cool with so much to do. We've recently moved to NZ and this was one of the first places we visited.

As with all of my pages I started with my background...very messy hey?!
I smeared some blue and orange Dylusions paint in random places and added a few smears of white paint as well here and there.
Whilst the paint was still wet I took some of the black punchinella and used it as a template, and with a brayer I rubbed over the punchinella on parts of the page, both parts that had paint and those that didn't. The effect is that paint stuck to the punchinella and was transferred to the page and also the pattern of the punchinella was transferred to the page.

Can you see how the paint has dried on the punchinella? I love that and used it on my page later on. I reckon I'll be doing that a lot on my pages in the future.

After layering some patterned paper, the punchinella and my matted photo and painting some raw wood veneer off cuts in the same colours as the background I then stamped with my trusty two stamps I always use (creature of habit I am) and then took the number smash 5x5 template  and stamped in places.

The stamping was too dark initially as I blotted the template with a small ink pad but I realised it was better to smear the ink pad over the template. So I smeared a bit of white paint over the areas that were too dark and wiped some of the paint and ink off with a baby then the print is lighter and appears to be part of the background.

Those 5x5 templates are so perfect for small bits and pieces of stamping.

Last few items to add...a title and a few embellishments.

Raw wood veneers are sooo good for titles as you can make them any colour you want. And anything with a # is a winner for my pages (LOL). This one was from a past Just Add Paper kit (JAP kit).

I love Gelatos as they are quick and easy to use (so many things you can do with them) and the colour is pretty true on raw wood veneers. I quickly coloured the word with both orange and blue in bits and smeared it and rubbed it in with my finger.

I love tabs, small ones and the paint chip tabs are so or two words in heaps of different colours...this is the memories one in them.
Next three enamel dots with some doodling around them, in a triangle to bring the eye to the photo.

Last but not least, a doodled border around the photo and the whole page.

Thanks for popping over and checking out my page....I need to clean up after that very messy page...and then start another one LOL.
Happy scrapping.

"My Happiness" by Gwen Wruck

Happy Monday everyone,

Hoping to brighten the start of the work week with some scrappy inspiration.   I have a layout to share with you inspired by Charm's sketch challenge as part of the October Cybercrop over at the Scrap Suite.

I am a sucker for a sketch as it gives me "somewhere to start" and takes some of the thinking out of the design process AND you can still add your own touches, and change things up a little if you like!

and here is the details of the challenge:

In my usual style I have switched some things up... for example, I replaced the large bow with the butterfly which has gone through my Minc machine and that large Wood Veneer element.  I also switched out the love heart doily for a regular round one.  I have also added smaller doilies cut into 2 pieces to create a base for my title and smaller embellishment clusters.

You can also see in the top right hand corner the centre part of that chipboard (the heart shape) and I've also added in some Resin Flowers.  If you take a look down the bottom of the layout you will see that I have created some texture for the base of my page.  I have used Punchinella to do this!  It makes for a really great mask, simply lay onto your page and push though gel medium or the like, I used Whipped Spackle for this one as it is a lovely white colour and dries super fast.  But you could use mist or paint, they all work really well.

For the chipboard, I painted with acrylic paint and let dry and then misted over with some Heidi Swapp Colour shine.  I have left parts more saturated than others rather than getting a fine and even coat for an interesting effect.  You will also see a tag in there, one of my favourite things to layer.

Dish products used:

Be sure to check out the Kit Bit section for elements from previous kits such as the heart shape paper piece on the left of my photo.

Be sure to check out the other challenges over at the Scrap Suite for this month as well!

Thanks for popping by

Reunion by Jaimie Ramsey

Hi everyone! I am here today to share with you a Layout I created to memorialise my 20 year school reunion. We had such a fabulous time catching up with friends and schoolmates we haven't seen for many years. It was just like old times with everyone having a blast reconnecting and reminiscing. I first used some dark grey housepaint to create a base for the background. I then used various shades of blue mist over the top of that. Next I used some Stencils with some Bo Bunny Glitter paste to finish the mixed media component of the background. I used some Punchinella and a blue felt heart doily along with a white doily behind the photo to highlight it. I used some blue puffy alphabet stickers to create the title "reunion", and a blue ombre wordfetti piece to add the phrase "moments to remember". There certainly were some of those! To finish, I used a Kinder creations chipboard word "epic" inked with Salty ocean distress ink to colour it blue.
A blue sequin bow was the final finishing touch, along with some Green Tara cherry blossoms and a Navy and white apple blossom It was a fantastic night, and I enjoyed remembering it while I created the Layout. I hope you like it too!

"Birthday Cupcakes" by Charmane Koch

Hello Everyone! Happy Saturday!

Today I am sharing with you a layout I created of my youngest daughter Ryarne with her two friends celebrating Ruby's birthday {who is her BFF}... They had a wonderful day and to end it off they had a cupcake each...

As you can see I have used a mix of different D-lish Scraps embellishments on my layout!
Including my staple embellishments - Paper Roses & Paper Doilies!

And of course a birthday layout is a great excuse to use the fabulous Raw Wood Veneer Birthday word!  I have teamed it up with the fabulous Puffy Alphabets Stickers...

You will notice in a lot of my layouts that I like to add small clusters to my layout - layering a mix of embellishments to add interest and balance the page...

Anyway, I hope you all have the chance to have a scrap and create using YOUR D-lish goodies!

Have a fabulous weekend!

Thanks for popping by to get a closeup!
