Shine - Emma Zappone

Happy Monday everyone,
I'm here to share my last layout for this month.
This page is created and inspired with this months JAP kit. It is a completely black and white kit which allows you to interpret which ever way you wish, which is just awesome.
I decided to keep the colours very simple and let the kit speak for itself........

I also filtered my photo to match the colour tones. We had just had a farewell for some friends and the theme was 1920s, perfect for how I wanted to use this kit. So to add to the glam I added some silver embossing powder to the 'shine' title and a couple of the chipboard diamonds.

I also added micro beads to the large diamond and onto the main white flower, just to bling it up.
The kit has so much choice in it and it makes for fun scrapping.
But I did add a couple of extra embellishment such as the journal its tag an additional washi tape, and one of the cute little butterflies that are in the shop now.
( just can't help myself but add more , lol)

Tomorrow is a new month so why not check out the new JAP kit and be inspired by it.
You never know what you might create with it.
Hope you have enjoyed my shares this month, and will catch you in December.
Till then , scrap you later,
Em. Xx

JBoys - Emma Zappone

Hi
Hope you are having an awesome Sunday!
Today I share with you my second Layout, and it's totally boyish.
I love this photo of my son with all his mates. They had the best day together,
 and this photo captures that.

I used no paper with this page (except the background of course) and only a little mixed media. I used an impasto paste which dries clear so I could stamp over it, and ink it in places.

And i used plenty of D-lish goodies to make my page awesome.

I used 2 gorgeous flairs and some left over wood stars and 2 different washi tapes to add layers.

I love the punchinella and cut it up roughly to add it all over the place and create interest. I also used a quote pebble and some wood quote bubbles.

Finished it all off with a tab of Awesome.
I love how grungy and pre-teen this feels.
Maybe you could try and create a layout without paper? Would love to see what you come up with.
I'll catch ya tomorrow with my final share.
Till then, Em. Xx

U wear flowers in your hair - designed by Emma Zappone

Well hello there,
I'm back today with my first share for this month.
And I couldn't help myself but share the layout I created with the JAP kit from last month!
I loved it all, then the brakes hit.......
I have 2 amazing boys and this kit was a little on the pretty side, hmmmm what to do.
So I pinched a photo from my cousin of one of her gorgeous girls and created this.......

And it worked perfectly! I loved having fun with all the pretty things. I'm not scared to use pretty on my boy pages but this one just asked me to scrap a girl, lol!

The kit makes pages just come together so easily, but I added a few extra things to it, like, the coloured arrow, an extra washi which I made into feathers with the washi from the kit.
I cut up the straw to make for a different element on the page with additional cluster.

And I decided to leave the pinwheel veneer as was, just added a little glitter to it and pierced a hole through it for the brad. These pinwheels are still available in the shop along with some other extra kit bits.

I hope you enjoyed my first share for this month.
I'll see you all tomorrow with another to hopefully inspire.
Scrap ya later, Em. Xx

Ballet Shoe - An Off The Page Project | Krisy Podolak

Today is my last share for this month and I decided to show you a little off the page project I have been working on.  This project shows how versatile D-lish goodies can be.  They aren't just for Scrapbooking.

I had this idea earlier this year and spent a few months searching out my main ingredient - Ballet Shoes.
I am not a dancer, never have been.  I've never even tried on a pair of ballet shoes.  But I have a secret obsession with Ballerinas and even more so after seeing the Russian Ballet of The Ugly Duckling in Moscow a few years ago.
I managed to find some second had Blochs (Fancy brand name) Ballet slippers as a great price, perfect for my idea.

I should note here, until about 8 weeks ago I had only heard of Frozen.  I had no desire to know what all the fuss was about but then my mum decided to by the movie for my daughter.  I have now watched it on average 6 times a day - nearly every day since.  And my daughter has a whole collection of "Princess" dresses that she regularly wears - EVERYDAY!
I started this shoe before I had seen the movie and without knowing - it was totally ELSA. So, I added some Elsa inspiration to finish it all off.

To put this together, covered the shoe in paper strips and pearl shine then I added decorated details.  Pearl strings, glitter and of course D-lish flowers.  Roses in white and blue and some wax blossoms.  I then added some snowflake buttons I managed to buy on a garage sale site.  The shoe was not complete without a Sequin bow.

Here's some close ups...

I'm not one hundred percent sure how I will display these.  Whether I will shadow box frame them or add some sort of hanger.   What do you think?  I'd definatly love some ideas. Feel free to leave your ideas in the comments.

Memo to Myself | Krisy Podolak

Hi, It's Krisy back again today.
It's no secret I love a bit of mixed media so the layout I'm sharing today is just that.
Mixed media can seem a bit daunting but to be honest its all trial and error and lots of layers.  This layout I created for the White + One Colour challenge. This month the colour was GRAPE.

My background is a wash of Purple Dylusions ink to start and then I added the layers.  A layer of Gyprock tape (you can pick this up from Bunnings), then some modelling paste applied through the SFX Rose Stencil.  Once this was dry I added more details through a square stencil.  Once it was dry, I added my embellishments.  Some white roses break up the purple a bit. I added some more white details in the form of the chipboard roses that I just coated in a layer of Gesso.  There is some typed journalling, thread and Rhinstones.  The layout was not finished without a Sequin bow. My favourite!

Here are some up close details...

Shine | Krisy Podolak

Hi D-lish lovelies,
It's Krisy and it's my turn to share some things I have created this month.
Today, I am sharing a layout created using my new obsession - Just Add Paper Kits.

This months After Five Kit would have been perfect for an elegant awards ceremony or awards night but being a Stay at Home mum - these events are in my past working life.  (For the moment anyways.)  So, I decided to scrap this photo of my daughter dancing.  She is a real princess and loves to dance and I thought the wood veneer word Shine really worked with the photo.

I thought I would share with you what these little packets of goodness look like for those who haven't be able to snag one just yet.  I am always so excited when my little kit arrives. This is this months little monochrome packet of excitement.

I always have an idea of what I want to create when I order it but then when I open it I always get a million more ideas and don't know where to go from there.  Sometimes I have to sleep on it.

This month, I pondered for a bit but had a general idea and I love the finished product.  One thing from this kit that I have never played with before is punchinella and I love it.  I am going to be adding it to my stash with my next D-lish order.

Happy Heart | Mandy Melville

Hello again D-lish friends!

It's Mandy here again today with my final share for the month. This layout is loaded up with lots of D-lish goodies!!

"Happy Heart"

I really love this photo of my kids and I that was taken on Mothers Day this year. I don't get in photos with my kids as much as I should, so Mothers Day is always a good excuse to have a photo taken with them... It's kind of mandatory in our house! This year was extra special because it was my first Mothers Day that I celebrated with my little Eleanor!

To start my layout off, I added some stamping to my background using a Kaisercraft stamp, and then layered some patterned papers as a base for my photo. Behind the photo you can see that I added a paper doily.

Let's take a look at some closeups so that you can see all of the D-lish goodies that I've used...

Along the top of my layout I've laid two strips of patterned paper as well as a strip of the black skinny washi tape. Then in the top left hand corner of my layout, I've added a black sequin bow along with a tangelo starflower. These are really pretty, and I especially love this tangelo colour!

I tucked a shipping tag between the paper layers and used this to journal on. I also tied some black and white cotton twine to the tag. To the top right hand corner of my photo I've attached a natural wooden peg. You can also see here one of the words from the black Minifetti sheet. These sheets are awesome - I think I need to buy them in every colour!

To the left of my photo, I added a die cut from the November Just Add Paper kit, another starflower, and a Freckled Fawn arrow paperclip.

To the right of my photo I created a pretty flower cluster that includes a black wild rose, another starflower, and two white sweetheart blooms. I LOVE the wild roses... they are one of my faves at the moment!!

In the bottom right hand corner of my layout I included a couple more phrases from the black Minifetti sheet. You can also see here that I've added a heart wooden button.

I finished my layout off by scattering a few black sequins (these were from the current Just Add Paper kit).

Thank you so much for stopping by today and taking a look at my layout! That's my last share for this month... next time I am back here on the D-lish blog, it will be nearly Christmas!!! (EEEK, I'd better start getting organised!!). I hope that you manage to squeeze in some scrapping time in the busy lead up to Christmas!

My Lovely Girls | Mandy Melville

Hi everyone,

It's Mandy here with you again, and today I'm sharing a layout that's quite different to the one that I shared yesterday - it's bright and it's colourful!

"My Lovely Girls"

I took this photo of my girls at Eleanor's 1st birthday party recently and I just had to scrap it straight away because I love it! They both looked so beautiful! I went complete girly with this layout, using lots of flowers and pretty things from the D-lish Scraps store!

Lately I have been trying to start some of my layouts off with white cardstock and creating my own backgrounds rather than always starting with patterned paper as the base. I am by no means a mixed media, messy kind of scrapper, but I do like to try different techniques. One of my favourites at the moment is using distress inks with stencils. I think I like that I still have a fair amount of control over how it will look as opposed to using more wet mediums. I also like that there's really no drying time, and it doesn't warp your cardstock like wet mediums do. Plus it's really easy for someone like me who isn't very experienced with mixed media. So that's how I created my background for this layout! I really didn't use much patterned paper at all on this layout apart from a couple of layers behind my photo. (You can also see that I tucked a journal tag from a previous Just Add Paper kit in amongst the layers behind my photo as well).

Let's take a look at a couple of closeups so that you can see all of the gorgeous D-lish embellishments that I've used...

Up in the top left corner, I added some wood veneer bunting which I covered with embossed cardstock in hot pink and lime green. I also added some twine (from a previous Just Add Paper kit) to the bunting. I love how the bunting adds to the party theme of the layout! Up in this corner you can also see that I added a Freckled Fawn chipboard heart sticker, a couple of wooden butterfly buttons, and two word strips from the green and pink Minifetti sheets. These Minifetti sheets have recently been added to the store, and I love them!! They are great for adding words and sayings to your layouts and come in quite a few different colours! In this picture you can also see that I have tucked a small felt doily under the top left of my photo and added a beautiful crochet flower on that corner as well.

I have discovered a new love in the D-lish store... the wild roses!! I used one here on this layout and also on my layout that I will be sharing tomorrow... they are just gorgeous!! So I started this cluster off with the wild rose and then I added a couple of hot pink large roses, and a few pistachio pastel petals. Surrounding the flower cluster, I have added other pretty embellishments including a flair button (from the Washi Hearts Set A), another Freckled Fawn chipboard heart, a wooden butterfly buttonenamel dots, and one of my favourite embellies... a sequin bow! I love how all of these items came together to create such a pretty cluster!

Thank you so much for stopping by today and taking a look at my layout! I will be back tomorrow with one last layout to share with you for this month! Until then, happy scrapping!

Shine | Mandy Melville

Hi D-lish friends!

It's Mandy with you today, and I'm kicking off my projects this month with my take on the November Inspiration Board! Let me just say that this was definitely different for me because I have never created a black and white layout with no colours before! But that's why it's called a challenge right? And I am so glad that I attempted it, because I'm really happy with the end result!

So, here's what I came up with...

"Shine"

I initially had another photo that I had planned to use for this layout, but my husband and I attended a wedding last week, and before we headed off my Mum snapped this photo of us, and I thought that it was perfect for the 'After Five' Inspiration Board.

Here's a reminder of what the board looks like...

I was obviously inspired by the black and white theme of the board. I also gained inspiration from the stack of cushions... I liked how the different patterns looked stacked on top of one another... I tried to mimic this with my different layers of black and white patterned paper. The diamonds have also found their way onto my layout! And you can see that I also used the optional sketch.

Almost everything on my layout was included in this month's Just Add Paper Kit! Although this kit has now sold out, some of these items are still available to purchase individually.

I started my layout off by choosing two different patterned papers for my background and joined them together with the gorgeous washi tape that came in the kit. Once this was done, I then added a little bit of stencil work to my background using the Scrap FX Star Confetti Stencil and some black distress ink. I then created my layers using the black polka dot tissue paper and the doily from the kit, as well as some more patterned paper. Once I had placed my photo on top of the layers, I was ready to start embellishing!

Let's take a look at some closeups of my layout...

I love this wood veneer word that came in the kit! I gave it a coat of white gesso and then once dried I rubbed some silver Kindy Glitz on it to give it some sparkle! It was the perfect title for my layout! Here you can also see the super cute wood veneer diamonds, which I painted with black Color Shine. To the top right of the photo, I added a little cluster of flowers including a black midi rose and a white mini rose from the kit, as well as a medium white rose.

Here you can see some of the layers behind the photo as well as the stenciling. In this little cluster I included a flair button as well as a couple more roses, all from the kit.

I added the larger of the wood veneer diamonds to the left hand side of my layout to balance it out.

Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a look at my layout! I hope that you will play along with our current Inspiration Board!

I will be back tomorrow with another share... This time it will be something bright and colourful! I hope that you will join me again here on the D-lish blog then! Until then, happy scrapping!!

You Shine | Sue Plumb

Hi D-lish fans! It's Sue here again today for my final share of the month. (I can't believe next time I am back it will be almost Christmas!)
Today I am sharing a layout I created based on this month's 'After Five' Inspiration Board challenge...

"After Five is stylish, sophisticated and oozes class. It's simple and pure...just black and white, nothing more and nothing less."

And here is what I created...

As soon as I saw the colour palette of the board this month, I remembered this photo I had in my stash - my daughter with her face painted. (It was funny, on the day I had watched other girls going up and asking for fairies, butterflies, rainbows...but not my girl. She just wanted to be a dog! haha)

The majority of the embellishments on this layout came from this month's 'After Five' Just Add Paper kit. (The main kit is now sold out, but there are still extra kit bits available in store.)

Here, I used the paper doily; flair button; and the black coloured wire all from the kit. I also added a Freckled Fawn wood chip word arrow (coloured with a paint pen) and a piece cut from a Journal Its - Wordfetti sheet. (I love using these placed around my layouts!)

The title came simply from the wood veneer word from the JAP kit (again, coloured with paint pen), and also one of the small wood veneer diamonds.

Below and to the right of my photo, (also from the kit) is more paper doily; a black sequin bow; black diagonal stripe bitty bag; pieces from the Journal Pack; and even a piece of raffia from the kit wrapping. (EVERYTHING in these kits is useful!)

You can see how I used the bitty bag to tuck my handwritten journal card in behind my photo. You can also see on the main layout photo how I ran a strip of the washi tape from the kit down the side.
(Papers used on this layout are by Glitz Design and Bo Bunny.)

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope I have inspired you to enter this month's Inspiration Board challenge if you haven't already. There is a store voucher up for grabs for this month's winner, along with a randomly drawn Just Add Paper kit for another entrant.
Til next month, happy scrapping! X

Love This | Sue Plumb

Hi D-lish fans! It's Sue here again with a more "traditional" 12x12 layout to share with you today.
This layout features a photo of my children on a day when my daughter decided it would be fun to dress up her twin brothers as fairies to play with her. (A great excuse to feature flowers and pink on a page with boys, I say!)

Contrary to my usual style of featuring a patterned paper background over a cardstock base, this layout was done in reverse. I cut my white cardstock down to 11x11 and created a background using a stencil and texture paste, which I then coloured with a watercolour effect. This background was then applied to my 12x12 patterned paper base. (Paper by Prima.)

I used so many gorgeous D-lish embellishments on this layout - I wonder if you can spot them all?

Pictured in this cluster alongside my photo is a silver foil doilypaper flowers - rose, cherry blossom, and forget me not; silver coloured wirelayered feathersJournal Its - arrow word tab; glitter washi tape; and silver punchinella.

I used more of the silver foil doily layered below my photo, and included more paper flowers across the page. I used the same flowers as I did previously, but also added a pink oriental lily. I added a silver sequin bow for some extra interest and more silver coloured wire which I attached with small staples. (The title is a silver Heidi Swapp sticker.)

My journaling was handwritten on a small grey tag, which I tucked inside a woodgrain print vellum bag. (Both of these items were from previously released Just Add Paper kits.) I tied the end with a small snippet of cotton twine. I layered another small piece of punchinella and a Journal Its date tab.

To finish off, I added a flair button from one of my favourite ever flair sets (Which Way Words) and a sprinkling of silver hearts I punched from some scrap glitter card.

Thanks for stopping by today so I could share this with you. I will be back again tomorrow with my last creation for the month. Until then, make sure you stop by the store and check out the new arrivals and restocks! (Some old favourites in new colours and some exciting new lines too.) Happy scrapping!
