Happy Memories..... with Cindy

Hi D-lish Scraps fans, thanks for joining me here today...

for my final post for this month I have another layout to share with you all "Happy Memories"

I love the memories these pics bring back of my old beautiful boy.... Nanook, enjoying his favourite treat... a raw carrot... Carrots were his absolute favourite treat...

To create this layout, I started by creating my background with acrylic inks and then I used the Scrap FX Ripples stencil with some modelling paste to create loads of texture on top...

I used a Freckled Fawn Arrow paperclip to create my lower cluster, along with a Journal It's Spool Top SentimentsHydrangea petalwashi tapesequins, crochet mini doily and some hand dyed muslin...

for this little cluster I used; a Flair ButtonHydrangea petal, crochet mini doily, sequinshand dyed muslin and a Journal Tag ....

and finally I used the Journal It's Spool Top Sentiments, some more sequinshand dyed muslin and washi tape...

I hope you've enjoyed this months shares

Oh Boy .......... by Cindy

Hi D-lish fans, thanks for joining me here....
today I'd thought I'd share with you all the layout I created for the current cybercrop challenge over in The Scrap Suite.... "oh Boy"

I got the colour challenge for this cybercrop... and I have been loving using blue and green colour combinations of late so this is the combo I chose for the challenge...

A little about my layout.... I created the background using the ScrapFX Ripples stencil, this is a fabulous stencil....

I used one of the fabulous Quatrefoil paper bags to mat the photo and added some white punchinella, seed beads, hand dyed muslin and a flair button...
I used coloured wire to create letters for my title... and used the Boy wood veneer and stars from a recent Just add paper kit... and finally I scattered a few sequins....

So there is still plenty of time to participate in the challenge and all the other great challenges of the current cybercrop over in The Scrap Suite, why not come on over and check out all the other challenges and join in all the fun....

Smile .... by Cindy

Hi D-lish Scraps fans, thanks for joining me here today.
For my share today I have a layout I created.... "Smile"
this is another gorgeous pic of my niece Chelsea showing off her adorable smile... isn't she so gorgeous...

I decided to create this layout in monotone greys and white, but I could have easily achieved a sticking effect using a monochromatic approach in orange or blue or pink or or or the choices are infinite with the the amazing ranges at D-lish...

In the pic you can see a silver sequin bow(I love these bows)... a white Heirloom flower and a grey After 5's flower aren't these flowers gorgeous... with such pretty centres... if you look closely you can also see a coloured paper doily sticking out...

Here is yet another white Heirloom flower (I removed the largest petals to make it slightly smaller and give a little variety)... I used the "smile" flair button from the defining words set.... I used a silver spiral stamen (I love these... you can stretch and pull them to any size and shape you want)... I added some adhesive silver pearls (and these are on clearance at the moment so grab yourself a bargain)...

I also used some plain muslin... but if you are looking for some coloured muslin, check out the fabulous range here...

Finally, the last pic shows a great close up of some of the background stamping, and Chelsea... which is the Scrap FX mini alphabet...don't forget if you can't find the Scrap FX you want in the D-lish Scraps store then ask Amanda, she is happy to order it for you...

till next time

Hello Lovely with Katie

Good Morning and welcome back for my final share for the month. Today I am sharing a page that was born out of my desire to actually use up some of the things that I had been buying (read collecting) and not really using. Most specifically I have been collecting lots of Pink Fresh Studio goodies from their paper collections to embellishments that Amanda stocks in the shop.

Now I know that most of the Pink Fresh goodies in the shop are out of stock, but this page may spur you on to use some of your "collected" items too. And I also managed to use some other favourites that are available!

So without further ado lets look at my page.

One of the first things that you notice with the Pink Fresh Studio products is their fun and whimsical nature oh and they are colourful too! So I tried to keep in with this feel on my page and splattered dots of colours with coordinating mists on my white background. After this I decided to create a block with my photos and some patterned paper strips and used the big hearts wood veneer by Pink Fresh to balance out the photo/paper block.

The great thing about blocks using strips of paper is that if the strips are placed a little apart, this gives you places to tuck and layer embellishments. I used some of the die cuts that came in the Up in the Clouds collection, but I also had room for other bits and pieces, like the perfectly matching felt bow and the little enamel heart. There are also some puffy border stickers from the Pink Fresh collection too.

I cut one of the canvas pocket tags in half to tuck under my photo as the title, these tags came from the embellishment kit that was in store a while ago, one of those things that I just wasn't sure how to use. I think the key thing to remember is that they don't have to be use the way they were intended! There is always room for gorgeous flair on a page and this one colour matched perfectly. I think this is one of my favourite sets at the moment!

I also love layering with journal its, this one came from one of the monochrome kits. Another example of using something in a different way than intended. Layered on this is a cute little wood veneer heart and another enamel heart.

Well there you have it, my attempt to use up some of the accumulated collections of which I seem to have a little too many! I hope this inspires you to use up some of your stash too.

Thanks for stopping by,

Laugh - with Katie

Now before you go and think that I am about to do a comedic routine, "Laugh" is the title of the page that I am sharing today! Although the photos on the page do make me laugh!

Continuing on the train of thought from yesterday, I decided to take further advantage of the challenges available from the current cyber crop. I decided to go with Sue's sketch. A sketch is a fabulous way to whip up a page quickly or as a way to get your mojo flowing again. So let's start with what the sketch looks like.

You have to love a great sketch, and this one certainly is with plenty of room to "make it your own". The first thing that I did to make it mine was to replace the single photo with two smaller photos, and I also put my photo block and layered papers on an angle to give it the feeling of movement. So let me show you what I finished up with.

I love using the 5x7 paper bags as a base for layering with photos, they are a perfect size to mat 6x4's, or in my case two 3x4's. The bonus of using these bags is they come in so many patterns and colours! Have you checked out all the different sizes of paper doilies that you can get your hands on? I love changing up the sizes that I use to suit the page that I am working on, and when they are white they are so easy to colour to suit your page, most of the time I leave mine white to create tone on tone with my white background.

Sometimes it all just comes together when you find a chipboard word that is perfect for your title! This one is a Scrap FX and is great because it has it's own subtitle. Under my title is a coloured journal it (and you should know by now these are almost always on my pages!), remember that you can simply layer with these and you don't have to use them to journal on, and when they come in great colours why not?! Also layered with the journal it is a cute little resin heart, this one is part of one of the grab bags, a great way to get lots of colours. Can you see the subtle stencilling in the background? I used a Scrap FX stencil and some distress ink to add a bit of colour to my white background.

A flair button with words, another great way to add more meaning to your pages. This one was perfect, the definition of happy, pretty apt I thought! Journaling added in with a motex strip and it colour co-ordinates to boot! This is why I have motex tape in every colour!

This little journal it is half of either a date or note tag. This is another good way to double your use, cut them in half and tuck just a little into your layers. These are a great way to add your date or even be a backing for flairs. I have also used some glitter washi tape to add some sparkle and dimension.

Another quick page that does make me laugh!

Teenagers - with Katie

Hi There! Can you believe we are almost at the end of August?! This time of year is absolutely crazy for me, I have so many birthdays for family and friends, throw in Father's Day and my son's school fete and it is lucky that I come out of August/September in one piece!

So, what do I do to stay sane, well I scrap of course! So long as I can find five minutes here and there I am all good! And to simplify the process even further I use challenges to scrap to reduce the amount of thinking that I have to do. And where can you find awesome challenges? Right here at the Scrap Suite Cyber Crop!

The page that I am sharing today is for Monica's Tic Tac Toe challenge. I chose the row which gave me these criteria: Doilies, Stamping and Flowers. And this is the page that I came up with:

I started off with a couple of pictures of my darling teenage daughter and the faces you get when you ask to take a photo (I hope that I am not the only one who experiences this!), and I stamped behind using a soft grey ink and the great hash tag Scrap FX stamp. I then had fun colouring in some of the extra squares in a random way with a water soluble crayon (although I didn't use it with water).

I decided to use some smaller doilies cut in half to create a scallop border to ground my photos and with the decorative edges it makes a really pretty border. On top of this border I stapled some pretty coloured tulle. Around the tulle I added a flair button, some pretty little roses, and used my motex writer to add my title (one of my favourite items from D-lish!). And I am loving the enamel shapes that I picked up at the birthday celebration the other day, this one matched perfectly!

I am really loving the new watercolour tags that have been added to the shop, and there was one in just the perfect colours to match this page. Here I cut it in half long ways and put one on each side of the photos to help frame them. Of course there is a journal it tag for my date included. I think the journal its are my other most used item! (Just ask Amanda, I am always ordering these and always in multiple numbers!)

So, that is my tic tac toe page, you still have plenty of time to join in on the cyber crop challenges too! You have until the middle of September just find the join our community button in the side bar to join the Facebook group if you aren't already a member. I hope to see your take on the challenge in the gallery soon!

Thanks for stopping by,

Mandy Melville | Guest Designer Project Share

Hi there!

I am so thrilled to be here on the D-lish blog today as a Guest Designer!! I have three layouts to share with you that showcase lots of different D-lish goodies!

For my first project, I created a layout using a recent photo of my eldest daughter Abigail...

I started my layout by creating some layers behind my photo, and then once I had that in place I got to work creating three separate clusters using some gorgeous D-lish goodies.

The top right cluster includes a deep burgundy rose, a white sweetheart bloom, and a die cut that I had left over from the Captured Moments JAP kit (the journal pack is still available from this kit). I included my journalling on the tag which is tucked in in behind my photo and finished it off with some black and white twine.

The cluster on the bottom left of the photo includes another burgundy rose and sweetheart bloom and a gorgeous gold sequin bow. I've also tucked a small burgundy felt doily behind the photo. For my title I've used a wood veneer word that was included in the Captured Moments kit and I've simply inked it with some black ink. You will also see that I've used some of the gorgeous gold rub-ons by Pinkfresh Studio on my layout.

My last cluster in the bottom left consists of another felt doily which I cut in half, another sweetheart bloom, and a Pinkfresh Studio Foil Die-cut. I finished my layout off with some black ink splatters and some D-lish enamel dots.

For my next project, I created a bright and fun layout of my son's 6th birthday party...
"Super Hero Party"

I had fun embellishing this layout with lots of awesome items from the D-lish store! I started my layout off by using the Scrap FX Star Confetti stencil with a few different colours of Distress Ink on my background. I also scattered some D-lish enamel dots and sequins around as well. Next I created some layers behind my photos starting with a Red Chevron Bag which I opened up and laid across my layout.

Along the bottom of my layout I added a small strip of washi tape, wordfetti, and a Freckled Fawn Retro Star Paperclip.

In the top right hand corner I've added another strip of washi tape, a Superhero flair (these were perfect for this layout!!), and a wood veneer wow bubble that I've inked with some yellow Distress Ink.

For my final project, I've created a sweet layout of my baby girl Eleanor...
"Baby Girl"

For this layout I played along with one of the current cybercrop challenges in The Scrap Suite. The challenge is to use this sketch as inspiration...

If you haven't yet played along with the Cybercrop Challenges in the Scrap Suite, I suggest you head on over and have a look as they are lots of fun and provide great inspiration!

Once again, I loved using lots of D-lish goodies to embellish my page! Included in the little cluster on the left of my photo is a Green Tara Mini Heirloom Flower, a white Sweetheart Bloom, and a Pinkfresh Studio Foil Die Cut. You can also see here one of the very cute Hello World Flair.

Tucked under the layers at the top of my layout I've used a tab that I had left over from my Peach Kisses JAP kit and another Pinkfresh Studio Die Cut. Under my title I've added some Wordfetti strips and then down in the bottom right hand corner I've included another Foil Die Cut, Hello World flair, and and another strip of Wordfetti. To finish my layout off I've scattered some D-lish Enamel Dots and a couple of Pinkfresh Studio Enamel Brad Stickers.

I hope that you liked looking at my layouts! I had so much fun creating them and I have thoroughly enjoyed guest designing for D-lish Scraps this month!

More D-lish Goodness

I have another round of projects
showcasing the totally delish products
Like a lot of D-lish shoppers, I too
added some punchinella to my shopping cart.
Here I used it to matt my photo.....

I love all the resin pieces in the store.
Some of my fave are these sweet little birds
They are so versatile and fit any layout theme.
I added a sweet flair button
You know, I love those gorgeous designs!

A cute little wooden peg
for a touch of whimsy and my
Endless Summer layout is complete!

I also worked on a mixed media canvas.
I used many varieties of flowers.
Amanda has a very impressive array of paper flowers
in the store. You can browse them here
I usually start of my mixed media designs by
adhering all the embellishments to the canvas.
I then give everything a coat or two of gesso then add
layers of pint and mists for a perfect colour match.
I used some wood veneer cages
as well as a bird's nest charm to carry on the theme.

I used stamping and small micro beads as well
as heat embossing for added texture.

Thanks so much for stopping by
to look at my projects!
See you next month!
