Peaceful You - with Anna...

Hi again :-)
Today I bring you my last piece for this month.
Again, it is a 12x12" layout based on this month's inspiration board (last day to enter today by the way!!)
I LOVE this inspiration board - so totally my colours! I mean...who doesn't love anything gold and glittery!!!
I think the colourings in the board look so happy and dreamy so I went with that theme and chose a photo of my little girl taking her nap - I mean she just looked so calm and peaceful and dreamy laying there asleep ;-)

White cardstock for my background (yes I've gone back to my natural choice of cardstock! haha!) - with the chevron stencil (available in shop - see below for full list of supplies used and the links) and some gold glitter paste created my background strip and I LOVE IT!

I've used vellum with gold text as part of my background for the photo. Adding a piece of patterned paper and some gold patterned transparency behind the photo helps it to stand out from the slightly busy vellum print.
Then I've just embellished and added the journalling.

D-lish products used:

SFX stencil (I used the Chevron Small stencil)
mini stars

So that's me for this month!
Until next time, take care and happy creating!

You Darling Are Fabulous - with Anna...

Hi All :-)
I'm back today to share another layout.
I have been on a bit of an experimental journey lately. Every now and then I decide to shake things up and challenge myself to move away from my 'normal' choices when creating a layout.
For example, I naturally gravitate towards white as a background BUT lately I have been working with BLACK!
If you were following along with the recent cybercrop over at the Scrap Suite, then you would have noticed the challenge I created involved using black as part of your background.
So, with black in mind, here is my latest D-lish layout...

I have splattered the background with gesso and colour mist ink.
I really like using the felt doilies as frames - here I've used them to frame both my photos and a couple of patterned papers too.
Lately, I am also loving using repetitive shapes - triangles, squares, diamonds, or in this case...circles.
All my embellishements are circular to make it all flow - apart from the two text pieces cut from the wordfetti which I think stands out more amongst the circles!

I added the story that goes with the photos onto journal spots - there is always a story to tell when it comes to life with kids! They have the capacity to provide such amusing entertainment ;-)

Here is the list of D-lish products I used on this page:

Journal Its - I used Ledger circles - white

Thanks for popping in!

'Go Big Live Loud' by Anna...

Hi everyone!
Back again for my second round of D-lish infused projects!
Today I am sharing a layout using a large photo, big font and just that nice little touch of embellishments to fluff it up abit!

I have actually had this paper and blown up photo set aside for awhile to complete. I was prompted to get it out and finish the page after seeing a challenge set by the lovely Katie for the last cyber-crop over at the Scrap Suite on Facebook. It was all about going BIG!

Because I had chosen quite a 'loud' background paper, I didn't really feel that I needed loads of embellishments so just picked a couple of wood veneer, some doilies, a flair badge, enamel dots and some diamond shapes. I think they just add that nice little touch and support the photo without overtaking the page and overloading it.

Thanks for dropping by!

Inspired by Wendy and Anna - with Katie

Hi there, Katie back for my last share for the month. This last page that I am sharing with you has been inspired by two of the challenges from the recent cyber crop held in our Facebook Community - The Scrap Suite. If you aren't a member already please join and get in on the action! There is a link on the side.

Anna's challenge from the November crop was to use the colours black, red and yellow while Wendy's was to use wood veneer with at least one piece coloured. When I started putting this page together I was already pulling out these colours so I decided to continue on the theme, and as for wood veneer, that is a given on most pages!

Best Day Ever, pretty much summed up how my daughter and I felt after attending Brisbane's first taste of Comic Con this year! And this photo is just one small part of the best day ever! Now if you don't know who it is in the photo, it is Lincoln Lewis, who I now have just a little crush on! He was so generous with his time and was just as excited and star struck while there as the rest of us were! Not to mention he is just gorgeous!

I decided to go with yellow as a feature (you may remember that I have a thing for yellow at the moment!), and then added in sprinklings of red and splashes of black. My D-lish goodies are:
Flair, Coloured Wooden Buttons, Journal It's, and some older Freckled Fawn wood chips.

Love these little coloured heart buttons, such a great little embellishment to throw in, and who can go past the great monochrome journal it's packs?!

As you can see I have coloured my wood veneer here black. To do this I just used distress ink and my blending tool. But be warned it takes a while for the ink to soak in and dry. I made a few smudges trying to do things before it was properly dry!

Another journal it journal spot making it really easy to add some comments to your page.

Well that is me for this month, thanks for stopping by.

Cactus - with Katie

Day two of my posts for the month. Today I have a more "me" page to share with you. That is to say it started off on a white background and is nice and clean!

I just couldn't resist snapping a photo of these gorgeous cactus flowers when they were in bloom recently, and with colour like that it was screaming out to be scrapped and I am just loving yellow at the moment too!

For this page I have used lots of great and versatile D-lish bits and bobs: Paper bag, Flair, Wood Veneer, Freckled Fawn Bird wood veneer, Paper Flowers, Resin Flower, Coloured Doily, Monochrome Journal It's and the new Pink Fresh Enamel Wood Drops (love these!).

Don't you just love those new Enamel Wood Drops from Pink Fresh Studio?! They are such a great spin on the enamel dots, one of my new favourite embellishments I think.

Wood veneer is such a versatile addition to any page, and I just love using paper bags on my pages. You can use them just like you would patterned paper!

Making a cluster with flowers is easy given the choice of flowers in the shop. Here there are three different paper flowers and a sneaky resin flower, add the flair and some wood veneer and a few leaves and you have a great cluster. The journal it's make adding some notes to your page really easy too, and you can get just about every colour under the sun in the monochrome packs!

Well that is it from me for today, thanks for stopping by and see you soon.

Bollywood - with Katie

Hi there! Can you believe it has been a month already since my last posts?! I am having some trouble believing it, this time of year goes way too quickly.

Anyway, time marches on and so here I am, back with some more inspiration. This layout is something a little different for me. I tend to favour white backgrounds and this one isn't white, and it was one of those pages that didn't come together quickly and easily (not that they all do mind you!), it was quite a stubborn page. As a result I think I am still deciding what I actually think of it myself!

Introducing Bollywood! This photo was from a girlfriends 50th birthday celebrations with a, you guessed it, Bollywood theme! Everyone took the effort to dress for the occasion and looked fabulous! So deciding to keep in the Bollywood feel I needed bright colours and gold trimmings, and what better place than D-lish to find those trimmings!

These are the goodies that I used - Gold doilies, Flair, Sequins, Paper Flowers, Enamel Dots, Tutu Blooms, Gold Wire and some great new goodies - Little Birdie Boutique Beaded Butterfly, Micro Beaded Florettes and Mini Burlap Beaded Butterflies and Pink Fresh Studio Screen Printed Wood.

Here let me show you a close up or two.

These paper butterflies are just divine! And add a piece of screen printed wood and an enamel dot and you have a nice and easy cluster!

Love those little flowers from Little Birdie, just beautiful and easy to use. I coiled some of the gold wire around a paint brush to make my own little spirals, something easy to add into a floral cluster.

How can you go past these mini burlap butterflies? They are perfect for adding some texture without being distracting.

Thanks for stopping by D-lish today and I will see you soon.

Hello (from Williamstown) .. with Alz

So whilst I was away in SA road tripping with my girlfriend and attending one of the most fabulous retreats ever (it was on my bucket list its that fabulous!!) GB took ten days off work so he could relax at home, put his feet up and not be nagged (LOL)! Anyways whilst I was away, every now and then I'd receive a text message or an email with a photo of Bear at a particular location, sharing with me what they were up to. I loved it, and received so many of them, I thought it might be fun to scrap them and put them in my SA album in a "whilst I was here, they were there" kind of way.

I've used lots of D-lish Scraps products on my layout .. a large, blue Felt DoilyD-lish Enamel Dots, 12mm and 18mm Clear Glass Cabochons, navy Hand Dyed Muslin, white Wildflowers, white Azalea and Alder Flowers, a navy paper bag from the Quaterfoil Rainbow Mix Pack, an 8" Paper DoilyJournal Its including cards from an old Just Add Paper Kit, a white Mini Wooden Peg, a "hello" wood chip from Freckled Fawn, navy Mini Roses and Flair Buttons from the Washi Hearts B, Which Way Words and In the Doghouse sets. Oh and finally, yet to be released, beach themed buttons.

So that's only one layout of a handful of fun things GB and Bear got up to whilst I was away. Stay tuned for more to come, including a visit to the old morgue. I know right? A morgue??? I much prefer my destinations!

Cheers .. Alz   :)

Clare Valley .. with Alz

So from something very pretty yesterday, to something warm and welcoming today .. the Clare Valley. A magical place in South Australia just a couple of hours north of Adelaide where gems such as this are found.

Clare Valley

I've used .. the pistachio Monochrome Journal Its pack, Washi Tape, a Pinkfresh Studio Colourblock Veneer Geotag, retro Pinkfresh Studio Enamel Brad StickersFlair Buttons from the apricot and kraft Monochrome Patterns packs, white Peonies, white Wildflowers, a lime Forget Me NotFreckled Fawn Wood Chips (arrows), a white Wooden Leaf, a 4cm Metal Box Lock, and clear Motex Tape.

You might notice that I've used the reverse of the Pinkfresh Studio Colourblock Veneer Geotag. I wanted to use a Geotag but the bright colours obviously wouldn't suit my layout. So, easy peasy, I just used the reverse! Meanwhile I am so loving the Monochrome Journal Its .. its so easy to pop them in here and there on your layout for pops of colour and interest and they are such good value at only $2.50 a pack (I know right!!!). Plus if you get the free (with any order) Journal Its - Monochrome Pack - Printed Colour Chart you can custom order them in whatever colour you like if your colour preference isn't listed in store!

Anyways I could go on for hours about all the fabulous products in store, but won't LOL! Why not head over there yourself (D-lish Scraps store), have a look see, buy a few products and see for yourself. Trust me, you won't regret it!

Cheers .. Alz   :)

Inspired by Wendy .. with Alz

This layout was inspired by Wendy Smith's recent cyber crop challenge to use wood veneers and to add colour to at least one piece.

A laugh is

I used the relatively new in store Wood Veneer Arrow Set which is seriously way too funky and the word wood chips by Freckled Fawn. I used a marker to change my wood veneers to a lovely dark claret red to match the raspberry Canvas Bloom. Although they looked great exactly as they were, I ended up adding some Glossy Accents to bring out the richness of the colour.

I also used the other following D-lish Scraps products on this layout .. red Coloured WireFlair Buttons from the seriously gorgeous Spring Fling set, white Mini Heirloom Flowers, and the following Resin flowers .. Forget Me Nots, a Cabachon and a Large Rose.

I seriously can't wait until December's cyber crop as, unlike many, its something of a quiet time for me. So fingers crossed I'll be able to scrap the, always inspiring, challenges on the weekend of the actual cyber crop. Like I said, fingers crossed!

Cheers .. Alz   :)
