Project Life with Agnus

Hi again, I'm back to share another spread from my Project Life album. I am trying to go back and fill in the gaps from earlier in the year and have documented a couple of days from Janaury which we spent fishing at the coast.

Because this was such a photo heavy spread, I decided to use the library card pocket template to create a couple of pockets that would double as a place for journaling while also adding some colour to my pages.

I rounded the corners of all the library cards using a corner punch, and stitched an arrow tab to the front of this pocket for a bit of extra detail. I used a manila shipping tag to hold my journaling which I have tied with twine to make it easier to remove from the pocket.

I printed up more journaling onto the round & round and ticket tab Journal It's and used these directly on my photos.

I used a circle punch to cut out a notch for the anchor pocket and simply tied on one of the ply icons using cotton twine. This time using a library card Journal It's tag to record the details.

Hello Sunshine by Agnus

Hi everyone, Agnus here with another share using some fun goodies from the D-lish store.
I love the look of crisp black and white paired with a pop of bright colour and today I went with some happy yellow to compliment a photo of my little guy enjoying a day at the beach.

Using one of the large polka dot bags as a starting point, I selected a number of round accents and Journal It's to create a nice flow across my page.

I grouped the embellishments into clusters for more impact and by varying the shade of yellow, I was able to add more depth to the page without having to introduce another colour.

Prodcuts from the D-lish Store...

Thanks for stopping by,
I'll be back in a couple of days with a spread from my project life album :)

Hello Everyday by Kylie Cornish

I have a confession to make I LOVE COFFEE!!
I know I shouldn't drink so much of it, but seriously how can you not love it when you make it and it has a smiley face greeting you and when its in your favorite mug its such a comfort. I must admit the older I get I have had to cut back on my coffee intake but I still love my morning one just to kick start the batteries for a busy day.

D-lish Scraps have an awesome range of coffee loving Flair perfect for those who love to scrap about their coffee intake.

Zombie Boy by Kylie Cornish

Hello D-lish Scrap lovers!

As you may be all aware we just had our cyber crop weekend and I had the pleasure of setting one of the challenges for the first one.
I choose to do a monochrome embellishment challenge, I loved it so much I completed another layout  using awesome D-lish goodies :)

I love that with D-lish you can find many colour matching embellishments and also matching journaling spots perfect for monochrome layouts.

I love monochrome layouts and I'm so super pleased with everyone's efforts with that challenge I set and I hope to see more scrappers attempting them, I know I will be doing more.

Our furry friends .. with Alz

Morning peeps!

Today I'm sharing a couple of layouts I've created about our furry, four legged friends. Those of the canine variety. LOL I'll leave the felines for someone else to scrap!!

This first layout is of my old family dog Bozo. The photo is blurry, damaged and oh so far from perfect but its the best of a bad bunch and Bozo is so important in my childhood memories he has to be represented in my albums.

I was inspired by the current White With 1 challenge which is to use white with liquorice. Some green accidentally fell on to my layout though LOL! Anyways I've used the following D-lish Scraps products .. black Motex tape, a Flair Button from the black monochrome pack, new release Journal Its from the black monochrome pack, white Carnations, a white Aster, olive Sequins, a black Grosgrain Pick 'n' Place Bow, black Small Roses, a black Mini Wooden Peg, and a black Polka Dot Bag.

I honestly cannot tell you just how easily this layout came together with the new release monochrome pack of Journal Its in black. They made layering a breeze. I don't know about you but I've ordered them in almost every colour currently available!

I also discovered a neat trick whilst creating this layout. I don't know about you but in the past I've always cut the stems off my paper flowers. I've saved those stems for curling and adding to flower clusters but it occurred to me that I could cut out a step. I didn't cut the stems off, rather I curled them whilst they were attached to the flower and then adhered the flower to my layout. As a result I have these little green 'curly wurlies' all over my layout and I think that little touch really helps to 'make' the layout.

Anyways now for something entirely different .. a layout of my Bear.

This is Bear in the kitchen waiting for any spillages that may land his way whilst we prepare dinner. He has a mat he's supposed to sit on when we're in the kitchen so he's not under foot; and usually he does. But I think on this particular occasion GB might have been preparing something with chicken and Bear finds chicken irresistible!!

Why is this layout so devoid of any mixed media? Because my friend (hi Catie!) challenged a group of us to create a layout with a completely clean background. I tried ever so very hard to find loopholes but there were none to be found. It was tough, really tough LOL. I so badly wanted to spritz at least a bit of black here and there but as per the rules I left it clean.

I've used the following D-lish Scraps products on this layout .. a white Bitty Bag, a strip of Bling from an old Just Add Paper kit, a black Mini Wooden PegFlair Buttons from the kraft monochrome pack, a black polka dot Pick 'n' Place Bow, black Coloured WireFreckled Fawn wood chips, a white, circle, scalloped Journal It and newly released black D-lish Dots.

That's it for me this month. If you participated in our cyber crop last weekend I hope you had an absolute tonne of fun. I was unable to join in but found the challenges so inspiring I'm going to slowly make my way through them and come back next month to share them with you. Until then, happy scrapping!

August Inspiration Board .. with Alz

Morning Peeps!

I'm here today to share the layouts I created with this month's Cotton Candy Just Add Paper kit and the current Inspiration Board challenge for inspiration. Plus a little extra.

Almost one

As the kit name suggests, all you need to do is add paper. In this instance I used two sheets of cardstock, two sheets of co-ordinating double-sided paper (from the MME Now & Then Dorothy collection), new Heidi Swapp banners, Jillibean Soup alphas, and then some background mixed media bits and pieces.

For my second layout I followed (loosely) the sketch in the Inspiration Board challenge for, funnily enough LOL, inspiration!

When I was finished creating my layouts, I still had some patterned paper off-cuts left over. Rather than stash them away in my off-cuts bag I challenged myself to make some cards with additional D-lish Scraps products. This is something of a serious challenge for me because truthfully, I've kind of lost interest in making cards lately. I think I'll try to do this more often though because (a) it reduces the off-cuts pile and (b) it was actually kind of fun (dare I say it LOL).

Cotton Candy card suite

Additional D-lish Scraps products used when making the cards include .. black/white Cotton Twine, mint Cherry Blossoms, hot pink and light pink Rambling Roses, white Sweetheart Blooms, white and light pink Sweet Petites, black BlingFlair Buttons from the Just My Type pack, black Small Roses, and mini 3.5" round Paper Doilies.

In the end, from the original Just Add Paper kit all I had left were some pink flower sequins, the aqua chevron bag, the washi tape and a wood veneer cupcake. I'm pretty happy with that!!

Meanwhile, you may or may not have noticed how very quickly the Just Add Paper kits are selling out. In recent times they've grown in popularity at a hugely rapid rate. They've been selling out within less than 24 hours! Accordingly, if you're a fan of the kits, make sure you've liked D-lish Scraps on Facebook and that you've selected 'get notifications' so you'll receive sneak peeks of future kits as they come up. That way you can decide whether, on the 1st of the month, you want to be one of the first people to order the kit before they're all sold out!!!

Happy scrapping!   :)

All the girls and all the boys .. with Alz

Morning peeps!

I'm here today to share two recent layouts I created for the Scrap The Girls and Scrap The Boys.

This first layout was created for the current Scrap The Girls challenge of which I'm a member of the Creative Team. This month the challenge is a gorgeous mood board and as soon as I saw it I knew exactly which photos I was going to scrap and how. My friend Brooke had a glamour make over and photography shoot done a little while ago now and the photos were just amazing. I loved that unlike so many other glamour photography shoots, all the make up artist did was to enhance Brooke's natural beauty. She still looks like Brooke and that to me is what this type of photography should be all about. PS: Brooke is mad about peacock feathers!

I've used some beautiful embellishments from D-lish Scraps to bring this page together .. purple Sequins, a Flair Button from the lilac monochrome patterns pack, mini 3.5" round Paper Doilies, lilac Rosebuds, a black Tutu Bloom, a black Silk & Organza Heirloom Flower, white Silk & Organza Mini Heirloom Flowers, white Carnations, a Resin Bird, and a pearl centre from a Canvas Bloom I pulled apart for another layout. I never throw those sorts of things out as they're just perfect for tucking in here and there.

I've also tackled the Scrap The Boys challenge which is to profile your 'boy'. I had to do this challenge because I had the perfect photo and I wanted to be in it with a chance to win this gorgeous prize pack provided by D-lish Scraps!!!

My layout features a very dear friend of ours who now lives in America with his American wife and three boys. We miss Adrian, Holly and the boys something awful and so are forever thankful for the modern technology that enables us to so easily keep in contact and up to date with what's going on in each other's lives. Here's to Adie!

I used the following D-lish Scraps products when creating this layout .. white Carnations, brown Cherry Blossoms, white Sweet Petites,  Flair Buttons from the Life in Bokeh pack, a Canvas Pick 'n' Place BowFreckled Fawn Dew Drops and Freckled Fawn wood chips.

That's it for me today. I'll be back tomorrow with some D-lish Scraps Inspiration Board challenge layouts.

Cheers .. Alz   :)

Happy Days!

Hi D-lish fans

Leanne back for another share with you today using 7 Dot Cold Country papers, I used quite a bit of stencilling in this layout, with some stamping and adding some purple ink to the background for colour. I don't get to scrap boy pages very often as my12 year old doesn't like to have his photo taken, so I snap away when he isn't looking. I took this photo on a summer family day out early this year down at the beach.

I have used a few D-lish embellishments on this page, I love those wood veneer sunglasses quite funky I think with some purple twine wrapped around to break the black.
I also added some of the purple polka dot buttons a freckled fawn paper clip and the top of my page I added a sweetheart bloom flower.
Don't forget to pop by the D-slish Scraps store for all your embellishment needs.
See you tomorrow for my last share of the month
happy scrapping!

Just beautiful!

Hi D-lish fans
Leanne back to share with you for this month, August can you believe it where has this year gone? Hope you are all enjoying the weekend Cybercrop and all the Dt challenges. Today I am bringing you a layout using lovely Manor House papers and of course beautiful D-lish embellishments. I used a photo of a work friends niece such a cutie she is dressed as a flower girl, as I said a while ago I love to scrap other peoples photo's sometimes. I did some background stamping with some different colour inks then proceeded to add some layers, I used the small paper doilies in behind my paper layers. I then took the cardstock oval frames the larger ones and cut a mini print photo to fit into one of the frames and used patterned paper to mount inside the other frame, then added a verse cut from one of the di-cuts.

I created a flower vine using the new leaf spray which I cut up into a few pieces, My D-lish flowers were blush guardineas, cherry blossums and small roses. And I added one of the small resin flowers
to the bottom right of the cardstock frame.
Above my flower cluster I added two of the resin birds.
You can find all these and more embellishment in the D-lish Scraps store.
Till next time
happy scrapping!
