Love this... by Agnus Kasprzak

Hi again, I'm back with another layout using more fabulous goodies from the D-lish Store. I have once again used some items from the sold out June Just Add Paper Kit, featuring these fun Polaroid and black doily frames.
I went with a neutral mix of black, kraft, cream and white, paired with gold and pink accents and used a mix of tags and one of my 'go-to' paper bags to create a base for my photo.

I was inspired by all the wonderful wire words the rest of the team have been making, and really liked that I was able to form a nice clear word because the wire is so easy to shape.

while browsing the D-lish store I recently discovered these fun mirrored hearts and super cute tiny heart beads that were perfect for adding some extra detail to my page.

I used more glittery gold and a cute typewriter flair to accent the jounral spot, and added more journaling inside the bitty bag which I have written on the tags.

Together... by Agnus Kasprzak

I was inspired by the June Inspiration Board to create a layout using the now sold out June Just Add Paper Kit. There are still a couple of days to get your layouts in to go in the running to win $30 D-lish Scraps voucher, or to win next month's Just Add Paper kit for free! You'll find all the challenge details here

I used the sketch from the inspiration board as a starting point for creating this layout of me with my boys. Once again I reached for the versatile D-lish paper bags to create a mat under my photo, adding a few paper layers underneath.

If you've already bought some of the fun coloured wire from the store you would have noticed it comes looped in a nice coil which was the perfect size to frame of the mini note Journal It's tags.
I snipped off a few loops to add to my page, but discovered that placing my photo directly over the wire was preventing it from laying flat on the page so I cut a notch from some scrap chipboard slightly smaller than my photo for the wire coil to sit inside. As you can see I used a little bit of washi to keep to coil in place.
The wire is really flexible and easy to shape and I also created a smaller coil around one of the flair buttons from the kit. A couple of strategically placed drops of clear adhesive will secure the wire to your page.
Another one of my "go-to" D-lish goodies are the Motex writers and tapes. I used the lowercase font wheel to add a sub title to my page.

I used more kit goodies paired with the gorgeous gold glitter washi and wood chip hearts to add a bit more detail to my page.

Why So Blue By Kylie Cornish

Hello Kylie here again.

Today I am sharing my second DT layout for D-lish Scraps.
I love that D-lish is an embellishment store and that you can create a simple but very effective statement with either loads of embellishments or even just a few!
I find that I'm the type of scrapper that really only uses a few, but the few that I do use help tell the story or enhance the photo/s.

"Why So Blue"

With a black marker you can alter a white doily.

Outlining a white object on a white background will help it stand out.

Adding a bright vibrant colour to only a few embellishing me will sure make them pop on your page.

Freckled Fawn Enamel Dew Drops - Ombre Yellow
Hand Dyed Muslin - BlueMixed Leaves - No Stem - BluePaper Doiley mini 3.5 inch roundBitty Bags - Rainbow - Polka DotSequin Bow - BlackChipboard Pack - CloudsPinkfresh Studio Colourblock Veneers - Geotags

So there you have it, a simple layout with only a few embellishments, but those that are on it sure do make a statement.

Hope you have enjoyed my post, and just like me super excited about D-lish Scraps 5th birthday bonanza next month :)

Happy scrapping

Hello By Kylie Cornish

Hi Kylie here today!

Last month when I shared my D-lish Scraps layout "Pink Lemonade" I had left over strips of paper from it,
so with these left over I made another layout for D-lish. This time round I layered the pp (pattern paper) and using gesso, texture paste, assorted mists and stencils this became my background for this layout.

I loved that I chose to make this layout on Kraft card stock so this meant I could keep my Freckled Fawn products raw, which is so on tend right now. Who doesn't love wood chips right now ;)

Hope you have liked seeing my first post for the month and I shall see you all tomorrow with another.

Scrapping 5x7" photos .. with Alz

I don't know about you, but I generally avoid scrapping 5x7" photos like the plague. My preference is a 3x4" or 4x6" tops. But lately, without even realising it, I've been scrapping more than just the odd one or two 5x7" photos! There's the one from yesterday's post, a couple I did as a guest designer for Anna's Craft Cupboard last month with the Prima Seashore collection (see HERE), and now this one today.

Do you know what I've discovered whilst scrapping these 5x7" photos? There's no secret to scrapping them! There's no need to follow any design rules or change any of your usual scrapping practices. There's no need to be afraid of them LOL!!! In fact I've found with the ones I've scrapped lately, the larger size has had more of an impact. Who knows LOL, I might find myself scrapping more 5x7"s in the future!!

Anyways I created this layout for the Kraft It Up challenge this month which is to use a PageMaps sketch, the colour pink, and paint/mist splatters. I altered the sketch to suit my large photo and love the way its turned out. I also think the light, but bright, fun and funky colours and embellishments really make this photo pop!

I've used lots of beautiful D-lish Scraps embellishments on this page including .. PVC DoiliesFreckled Fawn Enamel Dew DropsFlair Buttons from the Whimsy Wordart pack, a Kraft with White Spots Bitty BagChipboard Clouds which I used as a template, a Large Resin Rose, Forge Me Nots and a Heart Cabochon from Resin Grab Bags, a Resin Bow and a Resin Bird, a white Tutu Bloom and vintage pink Mini Heirloom flowers, one of which I cut some petals off to make it just a little smaller.

That's it for me today. I hope you're having a happy day (as am I) and have happy days ahead of you.

Happy scrapping .. Alz   :)

Introducing Magoo .. with Alz

Morning peoples!

By now you've probably figured out I love, love, LOVE dogs. I can't remember a time in my life when there wasn't a dog or two sharing it. Of them all, my two greatest loves have been my childhood  dog, Bozo, and this beautiful boy, Max, or as we affectionately called him, Magoo.

Love you always

Almost three years later, it still breaks my heart that Magoo is no longer with us. I would give anything to have him back fit and healthy. I'm so thankful for this hobby we call scrapbooking for providing me with an outlet to 'spend time with him', despite him not being here.

The D-lish Scraps embellishments I've used on this layout include .. black SequinsFlair Buttons from the 2014 Script Words in black and the Duly Noted packs, Chalk Folded Banners Journal Its, Wooden Star Buttons, mini purple Roses and a black mini Wooden Peg. I've also used white tulle (not yet listed in store) to create my heart embellishments. This is I think the third layout I've used the tulle on and I am finding it to be ever so versatile. The first two layouts I simply cut strips of the tulle to tie into bows. On this layout I've used it with felt to die-cut heart embellishments. My next layout will also feature tulle, used in yet another way.

That's it for me today. I'm hoping to be able to introduce you to Bozo tomorrow. Til then .. happy scrapping.

Hasta la vista .. Alz    :)

Must love dogs (and cats) .. with Alz

Morning scrappers!

Lately I've been enjoying scrapping with sketches. Ordinarily I like to do my own thing but every now and then a sketch challenge comes along and it grabs my attention. They're certainly a great place to start for inspiration. I created this layout a little while back for a cyber crop challenge.

Love my Bear

Products used include .. PVC Doilies, a white Gardenia, white AzaleasFlair Buttons from the Watercolour 2014 Script Words and Speech Bubbles packs, and brown Carnations

Oddly enough, I created this next layout for another cyber crop sketch challenge a month later LOL ..

Products used include .. a PVC DoilyFlair Buttons from the Pretty Kitty and Monochrome Patterns (mint) packs, a Resin Heart from the Heart Cabochons Grab Bag, a large Resin Rose from the Large Resin Rose Grab Bag, Resin Forget Me Nots from the Forget Me Nots Grab Bag, a white Silk & Organza Mini Heirloom Flower, a resin butterfly from a discontinued Just Add Paper Kit, sequins from the sadly now out of stock Peach Cooler Just Add Paper kit, and Freckled Fawn Wood Chips (birds).

If you like working with sketches don't forget that each month at D-lish Scraps the Inspiration Board challenge includes a sketch! Keep in mind though that if you're scrapping for the challenge, the sketch is optional and that you must take inspiration from the colours and the designs in the board.

That's it for me today. Hasta la vista scrappers .. Alz   :)

Life is Good - with Karyn!

Hi D-Lish Lovelies!

It's Karyn here with my last share of the month.

I always like to try different things with my scrapbooking. Lately I've been trying to include more of my handwriting on my pages. I don't particularly like my handwriting but I love the unique and special effect it brings to a page. So as well as hand journalling around the entire edge of my page I also hand wrote the title.

I started with a white page that I covered with gesso. Then I painted and splattered yellow and orange ink sprays to create the background.

Once it was dry I journalled around the edge using a black pen. After considering my photo and embellishment placement I added a variety of arrow stamps across the page and below my photo. I also added the date using a roller date stamp - I actually have lots of roller date stamps but this simple one is my favourite!!

At this point I also painted my title. I practiced a lot on scrap paper but it never works out quite like you intend it to - that makes it unique right!! I used black gouache paint mixed with water. This paint mix was also good to splatter across my page.

Next was the fun part - embellishing with lots of D-lish Scraps yumminess! I added yellow Forget Me Notsa white Cherry Blossomlarge orange wild rose, apricot Hand dyed muslin, orange Hand-Dyed Seam Binding, yellow cabachon Resin Flower, and yellow Resin Butterflies, and some Freckled Fawn enamel dew drops.

I also added a flair and twine from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by

Crafty Hugs xx
