Adore You - With Beth

There's an amazing assortment of flowers in the store so this month I thought I'd try and have a play with the new hand dyed muslin.

This girly thing and I do not usually work well together, so once I figured out what to do with the muslin, I was set.

Firstly, I decided on my general placement of patterned papers and once again using my paper saving (aka cheapskate) techniques by cutting strips of paper instead of large rectangles, I created the base patterned paper photo mat.

I then cut a piece of muslin larger than my photo. I glued the top part down and then I scrunched up the bottom to create a bit of a frame. I used a liquid glue to adhere it (Dimensional Magic is my favourite and I actually use it for all my gluing.)

After it was set, I glued a couple resin flowers to the muslin. Honestly, these flowers are not moving. They are stuck like super glue.

I also created a little cluster of embellishments around the title. On this layout I also sewed around the outside edge as sometimes I feel like the layout needs to be contained, you know?

She .. with Alz

Morning!!

I was thrilled to be asked to be a guest designer on the Scrapbook Creations blog this month and decided to do my feature on creating layers with mixed media and texture.
She

I hoped to convey the relative ease with which layouts like this can be created. Honestly! Personally I find that once my background is complete, and my photos stuck down, it all comes down to the embellishing. Is it any wonder I love working with D-lish Scraps products? This layout features ..  Paper Flowers (Gardenias and Forget Me Nots), Freckled Fawn Wood Chips (Birds and Hearts), Freckled Fawn Dew Drops (Arrows), Washi Tape, Journal It's by Star (Cream Saying Tickets) and Hand Dyed Muslin in coffee.

For the instructions on how to create this layout, please pop over to the Scrapbook Creations blog where you’ll find my guest designer post HERE.

A quick note, when sticking down your patterned paper and/or photos, try to keep your adhesive away from the edges so that you can easily slide embellishments like tickets underneath.

Thanks for joining me this month. I’ll see you again in December!

Cheers .. Alz   :)

{heart} nunna .. with Alz

Hi all!  Tis Alz again, this time with a D-lish Scraps ‘exclusive’.

{heart} nunna
published in Scrapbooking Memories Volume 17 No. 1

You’ll probably get to see a lot of this gorgeous little girl ‘Kara’ in my scrapping, as her parents are good friends who live, quite literally, just around the corner and I’ve been putting an album together for her first birthday.

As has become the norm for me when scrapping I’ve used loads of D-lish Scraps products on this layout .. red Motex Tape, Embossed Stickers (Borders), Freckled Fawn Wood Chips (Stars & Such, Hearts and Birds), Freckled Fawn Dew Drops (Arrows), yellow Flag & Flair Pack, Paper Flowers (Forget Me Nots and Gardenias), Washi Tape, a Fancy Edge Pick 'n' Place Bow, Petite Resin Roses, Journal It's by Star (Mixed Ticket Tabs) and Memory Maze chipboard (Clouds) as a template. I love the way all the D-lish Scraps bits and pieces layer together so beautifully. Don't you?

Stay tuned for more of the Kara Chronicles tomorrow.

Cheers .. Alz   :)

Introducing Bear .. with Alz

Morning! Its Alz here with some layouts of my gorgeous furry friend, Bear. You’ll probably get to know Bear fairly well over the coming months as he’s nothing but a big, furry, four-legged baby who, despite his 20kg plus weight, thinks he’s something of a lap dog! As such I take a lot of photos of him which I can’t resist scrapping.

This first layout was created for last month’s Kraft It Up challenge. Surprise, surprise LOL considering yesterday’s post! The challenge was a colour board one incorporating the colours kraft, white/cream, navy and orange.

3 today

Amongst my embellishments I’ve used a Flair Button, a Journal It's by Star Round & Rounds journaling spot, and a Navy Chevron Bag (which I cut down). I’ve also used plenty of enamel dots and wood chips, a fabulous range of which, by Freckled Fawn, you can find in store HERE.

"Faithful companion" was a result of yet another challenge (I know, I know LOL). This time it was the sketch challenge at Once Upon A Sketch. I also used it for a Scrapbook Creations blog hop post featuring D-lish Scraps yummy, scrummy flairs.

Faithful companion

Seeing as how the blog hop was all about flairs, flairs and more flairs, and I was featuring flairs from D-lish Scraps, I took the opportunity to use lots of other D-lish Scraps goodies. In addition to the D-lish Scraps Flair Buttons, I used Washi Tape, Hand Dyed Muslin, Wooden Star Buttons (dark), Freckled Fawn Dew Drops, Skipping 5 Puffy Things (Woodgrain Hearts), a Chevron Bag, Freckled Fawn Wood Chips (Speech Bubbles), Freckled Fawn Paper Clips (Cameras), Motex Black Tape, Journal It's Round & Rounds, Flag & Flair Pack (Orange/Peach), and Hand Dyed Seam Binding (Apricot).

A quick tip .. the Flag I wanted to use wasn't quite vibrant enough, so I selected the chevron patterned Flag and covered it with Washi Tape. Being transparent (the Washi Tape that is), the chevron pattern showed through the Washi Tape for a great effect.

That’s it from me today. I’ll be back tomorrow with some D-lish Scraps ‘exclusives’. I look forward to chatting with you then. Hope you have a great day!

Challenge junkie .. with Alz

Hi all! I’m here today with a confession. My name is Alz and I’m a challenge junkie. Scrapbooking challenges that is! Although I have been known to take on the odd dare or two in real life because I’m just plain stubborn LOL! But getting back to scrapbooking .. I just love, love, love challenges. I confess I keep a Word document on which my favourites are listed, and on the first of each month I start trawling the various challenge blogs/sites and start copying sketches, colour schemes and inspiration boards to my Mac and making notes in my Word document of specific requirements. Part of me thinks "oh, that's sad" LOL but another part of me thinks its a wonderful way to find inspiration and, more importantly, to connect with other scrappers. So you can imagine how delighted I am that D-lish Scraps hosts a monthly Inspiration Board Challenge. Although I don’t enter the challenge at D-lish Scraps per se, I do actually try to tackle it each month!

3 of her favourite things

Last month’s D-lish Scraps challenge was all about neon and as I don’t ordinarily scrap with neon I bought the Just Add Paper Kit (Neon POP!) (there may be just a few left in stock if you’re lucky). As we know I love the Just Add Paper kits (this month's Out to Sea is truly awesome!) and the Neon POP! kit was no different; it made creating a layout using colours I’ve never used before so, so easy.

Another challenge I like to get to each month is 123. Last month the challenge criteria was to use the colour yellow, the word “heart”, and to use different alphas when creating your title /journaling. Of course the layout came together fabulously easy with the use of my yummy D-lish Scraps embellishments!!

Chori

I wanted to keep this layout very simple with just the yellow on white (although other colours are allowed). However, my Pick ‘n’ Place bow had a really bright pop of pink in the centre. What to do? Simple really .. I just wound some cotton twine around the centre and voila, the bow was a perfect match for the rest of my layout.

I’ve used a  Flair ButtonPetite Resin Roses, Wood Chips (Hearts by Freckled Fawn), a  Pick 'n' Place Bow (Fancy Edge) and a Paper Flower (White Azalea). I’ve also used washi tape and cotton twine, both of which you can find many varieties in store .. HERE and HERE.

That’s it from me today. If like me, you’re something of a challenge junkie, don’t forget D-lish Scrap’s monthly Inspiration Board Challenge. You can find all the details HERE. Oh and don’t forget you can buy the Out to Sea kit, designed to co-ordinate perfectly with the inspiration board, should you so desire. And yes LOL, I so desired!!!   ;)

Dessert Anyone - Karyn!

Hi D-lish Lovelies!
It's Karyn here again!

My Scrap page today includes a photo of me. I'm always scrapping photos of my girls but rarely of myself - I must do more of it! The photo shows me enjoying a wonderful chocolate waffle dessert at one of our favourite dessert cafe's called "Cocolat" yummm!!

I started with a white background that I sprayed in places with pink and yellow Colorshine. I then added some splatters of yellow and pink Colorshine. Once this had dried I added a paper doilie, chevron bag and layers of paper underneath my photo. I then added a strip of washi along the top of my page. Lastly I clustered lots of yummy D-Lish Scraps embellishments around the photo and added a title.
I've used a heap of the gorgeous D-lish Scraps embellishments on this page, specifically crochet flowersFreckled Fawn dew drops , Freckled Fawn wood chips hearts, freckled fawn paperclips - silver, shipping tags bitty bloomspink canvas pick 'n' place bow, white daisy, pink heart button, white cabachon resin flower, and white heart paper doilie.

Cheep, Cheep - Karyn!

Hi D-lish Lovelies!
It's Karyn here again, with another Scrapbook page made using the yummy Neon POP! Just add paper kit from D-Lish Scraps? I just love it! Aren't the colours just amazing!!

This photo is of my baby girl holding a baby chick at the Adelaide show - adorable!!
I started with a white background that I sprayed in places with blue, yellow, pink and black colorshine. Once this had dried I layered papers underneath the photo and added some paper strips in the top right corner of the page. I added washi along the bottom pf the page and above the photo. Lastly I clustered embellishments around the photo and in the top corner, twisted some twine across the page and sprinked sequins randomly across the page and stuck them down.
Although I mainly used the Neon POP! kit on this page I also added some D-lish Scraps bitty blooms & cotton twine.

Another Share with Sophie {18}

Hi again!
Today I have a pretty layout to share with you! When I created this layout I didn't have any photos so as you can see it is very embellishment dominated. I really wanted to make the Chiffon Fancy the focal point of the layout anyway, as I love the colour and the soft layers of chiffon!

I also added other paper flowers and even some muslin and a couple leaves to create a cluster which is so easy to achieve with any flowers available at the store.

I have cut a row of the chevron pattern out of a paper bag and layered it under the embellishment cluster. As you can see I've also added some washi tape and a ticket.

D-lish Scraps products I'ved used:
Skipping 5 Puffy Things- Woodgrain Hearts
Large Resin Rose
Chevron Bags- Peach
Washi Tape- Bold Black Polkadot

Thanks for popping by the blog today! I hope you like what you see and it inspires you to get scrapping (or shopping) this weekend.
Have fun!

DT Share with Sophie {At the Show}

Hey guys!
Today I have to share with you a layout, PLUS a little video I made of the making of the layout!
As well as some gorgeous D-lish goodies I have used papers and stickers from October Afternoon's Midway collection.

As you can see I've used some hand dyed muslin which is new to the store. I love that it is thin and can easily be teared and distressed before being adhered to your layout.

D-lish Scraps Products I've used:

Now please enjoy this super quick video I made for you! I had been wanting to create a video like this for a while. I love how it turned out. Even if you don't get  anything out of it I hope you enjoy watching it!

I know it's a bit fast so if you have any questions about techniques or products please comment below!
Thanks for stopping by the blog today!
I hope I have inspired you to get creating!

Cat & Dog Love (Kayla)

I am back today with some more shares with some lovely D-Lish scraps products. Think I am slightly addicted to all these new goodies. I even made some quick cards that are great for last minute creations --- I always remember I need a card as I am just out the door!

I used some of the new Maggie Holmes Flea Market collection for this page as well as an older Crate Paper On Trend collection.
This page took me 20 minutes!!! --- believe it or not. Once I get a design in my head, it seems to be pretty quick to put together. I kept it pretty simple with a cluster around the photo and on the top right hand side. See below for a full list of materials.

D-Lish Products Used:

I decided to make some cards using these adorable Freckled Fawn wood chips. I loved these and they make great sentiments. I wanted these to be the feature on the cards so I kept the design very simple. Better still - they took only minutes to make!

I hope you enjoyed my share.
