Raquel Bowman - July Design Team Share

Raquel's Blog: A Blessed Life

Well, it feels like a while since I last shared on the D-lish Blog. But there has been so many exciting things happening at D-lish, like a birthday celebration! I hope you had a chance to join in :)  I did just for fun!

My first share is a page I created which was inspired by the birthday challenge inspiration board -

Here is the page I created based on this board. I was inspired by the colours mainly and the chevron in the party cups.

Layout title: Me? Cheeky? ... Never !?!

D-lish Products Used:
Yellow Resin Bird (coming to the D-lish Store soon!)
Freckled Fawn products available in the D-lish Store:

Other Products Used:
Papers: Amy Tangerine 'Yes Please' Papers
Embellishments: Amy Tangerine 'Yes Please' stickers, Amy Tangerine 'Yes Please' Transparent Alphabet, American Crafts Ombre Thickers
Other: Tim Holtz tiny attacher and staples, sewing machine and white thread, American Crafts date stamp, black ink, typewriter.

The gorgeous D-lish resin bird (so bright and vibrant in colour), and Freckled Fawn goodies. Just love the bright yellow in this bird, it worked perfectly with this range.

Freckled Fawn wood chips and a close up of the layering used, including the use of the doily available in store.

The Freckled Fawn hearts attach so easily with the Tim Holtz tiny attacher.

I used one of the new Chevron paper bags in the store to hold my journaling. I am finding I am either having brief strip journaling on a page or detailed journaling which I hide behind layers which is on tags. The Amy Tan paper which can be cut up had the perfect 4x6 section to hold my journaling.

The next layout I have to share with you is one I created for the July 1st Stuck! Sketches challenge. This sketch had gorgeous circular elements and butterflies. Here is what I come up with, of course I chose to embellish with my D-lish Scraps stash :)

Layout title: Happiness is like a Butterfly
D-lish Products Used:
Bobby Pins - Silver x 2
Big Blooms Grab Bag
Sequin Bow - Light Pink
Mini Resin Pastel Butterflies Grab Bag
Paper Doiley 20cm round
Washi Tape
Resin bird (coming to the D-lish Store soon)

Freckled Fawn Products available in the D-lish Scraps Store:
Enamel Dew Drops - Black/Grey/White
Enamel Dew Drops - Ombre Pink

Other Products Used:
Papers: White card stock, Plain Vellum, Studio Calico Patterned Paper and Vellum, Simple Stories Patterned Paper
Embellishments: Simple Stories Alphabet and Elements sheet, wire.
Other Products: Faber Castell Gelatos and Glaze, Gesso,  Heidi Swapp Stencil, Tim Holtz tiny attacher and staples, sewing machine and white thread, typewriter.

Here I have also used lots of D-lish goodies, washi tape behind the photo, an adorable sequin bow and the Frecked Fawn enamel dots.

To create the mat behind the photo I added a washi rectangle, then muted it down with a swipe of gesso.

I also found the resin bird was a little to bright for this page as I wanted to keep the tones nice and soft. I touch of gesso again gave it that 'pale' look.

Here the bird is on the page, as well as the mini resin butterfly. I also created a white resin flower pin using a white resin embellishment and a silver bobby pin available in store.

My last share for today is a page I created only recently just for fun. I was so inspired by the bright colours in my recent D-lish order that I just had to create with them! The Echo Park 'Here and Now' range worked so well with my goodies.

Layout title: Cool Chicky

D-lish Scraps Products Used:

Pink Heart Spotty Button (coming to the D-lish Store Soon)
Resin Grab Bags (blue flower)
Freckled Fawn Wood Chips - Hearts

Other Products Used:
Paper: White card stock, Echo Park Patterned Paper
Embellishments: Echo Park Alphabet and Element Stickers, Echo Park Stickers
Other: Tim Holtz Tiny attacher and staples, American Crafts Precision Pen, American Crafts date stamp, Black Archival ink, Studio Calico 'Neon Pink' Mister Huey Mist.

Close up of the Freckled Fawn goodies; dew drops and wood chips. There is also a smidgen of washi here too.

Title and D-lish Embellishments, love love love this spotty button coming to the D-lish Store soon!

I created a border along the top and bottom of the page using the gorgeous bright pink tiny stars washi with a touch of a black washi to add a bit of contrast. I love this technique as it helps direct the viewers eye towards the middle of the page and the main focal point - 'the photo'.

I hope you have enjoyed my share today :) I always love delving into my D-lish Stash, which seems to be presently overflowing out of its current storage system!! As I have said many a time, the D-lish goodies really are just the perfect finishing touch to a page, love love love it all!!!!
'Til next month, take care, xxxx
