Catch up with Kate- April

Hi everyone!
I can't believe that it is the end of April.. the month has just flown by. But I was very excited today when Amanda announced that Freckled Fawn products have hit the D-lish Scraps shelves and before you could shout the words Freckled Fawn 5 times fast, they were nearly all sold out! I think you might be lucky to find a pack or two remaining in the store. But if you missed out, never fear, there will be more restocks coming soon. It definitely pays to keep your eyes open and be very quick with your shopping cart at D-lish Scraps.

I go through these phases where I like my photos printed in a square. Sometimes it just looks better on my pages. My 3 year old just loved playing with a bucket of water and a $2 pack of different coloured sponges from the discount store. I usually enjoy clustering a lot of embellishments in groups on my pages, however I actually put extra thought into my embellishments for this page and where their placement would be! I thought all the embellishments I chose, really complimented each other.

Chipboard- Mini Hearts
Chipboard- Pack- Arrows
Washi Masking Tape
Tiny Start Button Grab Bag
Large Resin Rose Grab Bag
Vintage Roses 2cm
Hydrangea Petals
Cosmos Daisies

D-lish Scraps has a vast array of Flair Buttons- bigger than any other online Aussie store that I can think of! No doubt you will find a print to compliment your project. Because my layout has 3 photos (which I rarely do) and they are quite busy, I wanted to keep my layout and embellishments simple enough to compliment my photos.

Cherry Blossoms
Flair Buttons Forest Friends
Chipboard Mini Hearts   - I painted my heart, and used my pen to outline the shape, then mounted on ds foam tape

That is it from me for this post, I am off to a retreat tomorrow for the day and you can be sure I will be packing my entire D-lish Scraps stash to play with. Hopefully I will have lots to inspire you with upon my return ;)

Stay tuned for more posts from our fabulous design team, and enjoy your weekend!

Love Kate x

April Design Team Share with Sharmaine

Have you met the 9th wonder of the world yet??
I bet you have roll or two in your scrap supplies!
Washi tape!!
Oh I love thee!
And because you are probably just like me, and have oodles of the gorgeous stuff, you are probably wondering how you can use it up so you don’t have to feel the associated guilt that comes from having so many rolls.
Am I right??
So why not use washi tape to alter alphas?

Just tear a strip of tape and place it on your alpha (I’ve used some Pink Paislee wood alphas)

The strips don’t have to line up or be the same thickness.
Just cover the whole alpha.

Then, using scissors or a craft knife, cut off the excess tape

and fold the sides down.

And it’s such a quick, mess-free and effective way to alter alphas and use up your washi tape.
You can see how I altered all the wood alphas in my title

on this monochrome page.

I also used a mini mirror butterfly

Bright Heart Button
Bright Star Button
and a mini white PVC Doily that I altered with some blue mist

Have you noticed the trend to use metallics?
D-lish have some very cool gold washi tapes available in store right now
and I’ve used the fun triangle washi tape on this page, inspired by the April Kraft It Up Challenge

I’ve also used some silver photo corners, as arrows,
along with some pops from the Rhinestone Grab Bag
and some fun buttons from the Tiny Retro Round Button Grab Bag

I’ve added a resin grid button

and finished off my page with a gorgeous white velvet leaf

and the last page I have to share with you I made using some of my all time favourite D-lish Scraps products

The pops of colour from some mini crochet doilies topped with a resin flower just make me smile!

I’ve used some PVC Doilies, for some patches of white

and some sweet metal daisies for a dash of fun.

Hope you’ve found something fun in my post.
Happy creating.

Raquel Bowman - April DT Share

Raquel's Blog: A Blessed Life

Today I am here to share some more layouts with you that I have created using the gorgeous D-lish Products.

The first page I have to share with you is an 8.5"x 11" size page. This was because I created it for the April challenge at SUYS which was to do one at this size! A little out of my comfort zone.

Layout title: This smile

D-lish products used:

Other Products Used:Kraft cardstock, Crate Paper 'Maggie Holmes' papers, stickers, frame and die cuts, October Afternoon Mini Market alpha stickers, Jillibean Soup alphabet stickers, white thread, A Piece of Cake Designs 'Cherry Flair'

Here is a close up of how I have used the bitty bloom and the heart button. They are both the perfect addition to a cluster of embellishments.

The next page I have to share is a new favourite of mine. I created it for the current Scrap the Girls challenge, which was to use hexagons, paint or mist and buttons (and a pic of a girl).

Here is what I came up with:

Layout title: Love, kisses, adore

D-lish products used:

Other products used:
Papers: Crate Paper 'Maggie Holmes' patterned paper
Embellishments: Crate Paper die cuts, Crate Paper sticker, Crate Paper Bow, Bo Bunny Button, My Minds Eye buttons.
Other: The Crafters Workshop Template, Prima Template, Gold 'Zing' embossing powder, Mister Hueys mists, White Sakura pen, gold thread, staples.

I used Gold embossing powder on top of the mini chipboard words and heat set it. It created a nice textured and of course sparkly effect.

I found the centre of the cherry blossom a little too stark so I decided to keep with the metallic theme and added a little bit of Old Gold paint to it to make it suit my layout more.

Recently I love adding texture to pages whether it is paint or mists or just extra layers. When I saw the tulle in the D-lish store I thought it would be perfect to add to a page of my little girl.

To create the 'ruffled look' I ran a strip of double sided adhesive along the bak of my photo mat. I then pleated and stuck it down as I went.

I further secured the tulle with another strip of adhesive. After this I actually added a strip of acid free sticky tape which is not pictured here.

I love adding strips of paper to the top and bottom of my layouts too lately. I decided instead of paper I would use washi tape and tear it in half. I then added it along the bottom and the top of the layout, layering as I went. I finished this look off by machine stitching along it with metallic gold thread.

Hope this post has inspired you to create with the gorgeous D-lish Scraps Products available in the store.

Tarrah's April Design Team Share...

Hi everyone!!

Tarrah here today to share some layouts I have been creating with the gorgeous D-Lish Scraps products!
I just wanted to start by saying that I find it so super easy to add D-Lish products to my pages. I can always find just the right embellishment that suits the page I am creating. Sometimes I find myself adding 8 or more D-Lish products without even realising, it is that easy!!
I created this layout of hubby and I at a recent wedding using heaps of D-Lish Scraps  products...
 Red/White Spot Paper Doily
Black Pearl Stems
I just love using my Cameo at the moment...I cut out the Love word frame using my Cameo....
Next up is a cute layout featuring my eldest dressed up for his Easter Day at school.
D-Lish Products used on this layout....
How cute is that Resin Bunny? I just love them!! They come in a couple of different colours and are in store now!!
This next layout was another layout I created, I have again used more of the gorgeous Amy Tan 'Ready, Set, Go' collection, I don't have much left, I might have to splurge and get some more of it. This was meant to be a 'just because' layout but when I thought I had finished I felt that it needed something out came my D-Lish Scraps box of goodies and I added a few bits and pieces to it to finish it off.
D-Lish Scraps items used are:
Thanks so much for joining me on the D-Lish blog today, I hope I have inspired you to pull out your D-Lish Scraps goodies and have a play, we would love to see what you create with them, upload your projects to the Facebook page where we can leave you some love!!
Stay tuned in the next few days for more gorgeous creations from the Design Team...happy creating

DT Inspiration - Michelle Whorwood

Hi again,

Gosh the months are just flying by and it is my turn again to share some D-lish inspiration today.

Last month I was super excited to see Canvas Cuts restocked and I shopped up large and got a whole lot in my DT kit.  One of the things I love to do when I scrapbook is to layer and create interest on my pages and the Canvas Cuts are just a perfect way to do this without adding too much bulk to your page but still giving you lots of gorgeous texture.

I just adore the first layout I'm going to share with you.  It is not often that I create without using any patterned paper but I just wanted to showcase all the gorgeous embellishments on this one.  I applied texture paste directly to my white cardstock and adhered to it the Canvas Cuts - Scallops - to create more texture I didn't stick them down flat but instead just folded it over in places to add further interest. I added a bow made from seam binding (lots of amazing hand dyed seam binding available here), the cutest little resin butterflies and a cute sweetheart flair to finish.

This next layout that I'm going to share combines the new Crate Paper Maggie Holmes collection  with D-lish - which work so well together.  On this layout I have used the Canvas Cuts - Butterflies which are amazing just in their natural state and I added another couple of resin butterflies from the grab bag (see link above) onto the largest canvas cut butterfly. One of my other favourite products at the moment is the doiley and I have used one of the D-lish Paper Doileys - 16cm Round underneath my embellishment cluster at the base of my photo.  These doileys are a super cost effective way of adding interest and depth to your layouts!  Lastly I finished off the layout with some bling and added some Adhesive Pearls in blue.
   Little details:

My last layout I'm going to share with you today has a vintage girly feel to it.  I just adore D-lish roses and every month I get more colours to add to my growing collection.  This layout features both pink and white roses from the mixed packs of different sized flowers.  When I create flower clusters I tend to use flowers of varying sizes as this creates a larger focal point (the biggest rose) along with smaller accompanying roses to add interest.  The mixed sized flower packs are just perfect for creating this type of look on your layouts.  I have had to cheat slightly this month as I ran out of pink flowers for this layout so the top flower cluster on the right actually has three white roses but I have inked the two smaller white roses with pink ink to make them look like the pink roses at the bottom of my photo.  This is super easy to do.  All you need is the right colour ink and a small sponge to dab the ink onto the flowers.  Here I just wanted to create a partially pink flower and to leave some parts of it still white like the original pink roses from the mixed pack.

One of the latest products for March (have you seen all the cool new products that have just been loaded!!) is the cute little mini rosebuds.  These rosebuds come on a metal wire which is bendable.  I have added some of the rosebuds into my flower clusters by winding them around the base of the roses and bending them so that they sit just outside of the flowers (see close up below).
Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today and I hope you have been inspired to get creating with some of the gorgeous D-lish embellishments that are available in store today!!
Take care
