Handmade embellishments from D-lish ...

I am taking over the blog today to share with you all a new layout I have just completed. I thought I would also share some ideas for some simple handmade embellishments using D-lish products.

First up I'll show you how super easy it is to make your own glass picture pebbles.

You'll need some dimensional magic (or glossy accents), some glass cabochons, some scrapbooking paper (here I have used a die cut from the range I was working with) and a metal cabochon frame.

Add a few drops, seriously less is more, of the dimensional magic to the back of the glass cabochon and then  press it down onto your paper. It will slide a bit but it will eventually sit in place. If you use too much dimensional magic it will squelch out the sides and just make it more difficult to cut out later. Leave to dry for about 5-10 minutes and then trim around the outside. The edges don't have to be perfect as the dome in the glass hides them beautifully. Then simply glue it into the metal cabochon frame and this is the result:

A gorgeous, one of a kind embellishment that literally took minutes to make and matches your page perfectly! I have also successfully made these using washi tape, simply lay a couple of strips of tape down on some photocopy paper and do the same as above. Cabochons and frames are both available instore and start at just 50 cents for a pack of 10!

My next embellishment is even easier than that! You'll need:

I love Helmar 450, it's a great strong bonding glue and the best thing I've found since Pritt 'improved' their formula! Also one of the faceted heart beads (these come in a grab bag of 25 for just 50 cents) and a berry pin which comes on a spindle of 40 for $1.50.

Simply glue the bead onto the shaft of the pin and this is the result:

I'm slightly addicted to making these little heart pins, I think they've appeared on the last 3 or 4 of my pages!

It's also no secret that I'm addicted to washi tape! I love using it on my pages and I think it's product that is so versatile. I used it to cover my scalloped chipboard frame. Simply lay strips of the tape down and then cut around with a sharp knife.

You may even spy a sneak of one of our 5 new twine colours due in store next week!

I also used the washi inside my little peek-a-boo flaps, layered with one of our resin butterflies. These are great value too, a pack of 5 is just 50 cents and we have 8 colours over 2 designs to choose from.

Here is the completed page, it is based on a sketch from the Page Drafts blog. If you love using sketches, you will love this site, they also have a page on facebook here:

Other D-lish products I have used on my page are:

- Cherry Blossoms in mint
- Wild Rose in raspberry
- Old Fashioned Rose in sea green
- A heart pin
- Resin roses from the grab bag

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope I have inspired you to try and make some of your own D-lish-ious embellishments too! Amanda x

Hello, Chantal with you today... :)

I'm very excited to be doing my very first blog post at D-lish Scraps!  I am thrilled to be on this team and to be creating with the fantastic goodies that are stocked in D-lish Scraps' store!

First up I'd like to share with you a brand spankin' new layout, unseen by anyone (apart from me, of course!).  It's called "An Amazing Day"...

This layout has been based on a current sketch at Creative Scrappers.  I love working with sketches, do you?

I've used a gorgeous Resin Cameo Frame - Turquoise, two Journal It's - Chevron Journals in green and turquoise (you get a packet of ten, in ten delightful colours), a sprinkling of Rhinestones - Pink, and a pink Flower Pin.

The next layout I want to share today is based on another current sketch from Creative Scrappers.  My layout is called "A View from the Top"...

This was a lot of fun! :D  Other than some handmade goodies I've used the following goodies from D-lish Scraps...

Those cute Swallow Charms come in a pack of three.  Aren't they so cute?  I've simply glued them onto my layout and made a pearl trail for them.

I've used Journal It's Note Strips (white) on my layout, for the bulk of my journalling.  I love all the Journal It's in store.  They are fantastic!

The last layout I'd like to share with you today is also based on a sketch by Creative Scrappers.  It's called "Teacups"...

I've again used two Journal It's Note Strips (white).  This time I've cut one in half and used one of the halves tucked behind the main photo (like a tab) and the other half has been layered underneath the other, mounted foam tape.

The new FWAB Elise Flourishes are absolutely beautiful!  I love to cut them up a bit to suit my layout. :)

Well I hope you have enjoyed my first D-lish Scraps blog post!  Thanks so much for taking the time to visit today!

Have a wonderful week!

Chantal :)

Lots of Layers

It's Lauren here again. I just have one more quick layout to share with you for this week. This is my layout for this months challenge at Kraft It Up - it's based on a sketch and you had to use lots of layers/textures.

As you can see, I've used some gesso on the background and layered lots of strips of paper, washi tape, stickers, chipboard and embellies. Here is a close up of some of the flowers - available in the D-lish Store.

These are some of my favourite washi tapes at the moment and they matched perfectly with the colours in this Basic Grey range.

And here you can see that I have tucked some of the yummy hand dyed muslin in under my photo.

Thanks so much for stopping by the D-lish blog today. See you next time. :)

It's The Little Things

Hi there! It's Lauren here and I'm really excited about being a part of the D-Lish DT for the coming months. I have a layout to share with you today.

Lately, I have been loving adding little embellishments randomly on my layouts. And the D-lish store is choc-full of cute little bits and bobs that are perfect for that! Here is a recent layout I created using some of the  Crate Paper 'Story Teller' range.

Here you can see that I have used some of the Kraft tags from D-lish. I have doodled around the edges to make them stand out.

And I've added some of these cute wooden stars. They would look great painted or inked as well!

So make sure you pop over to the store and grab some cute little embellies for your layouts too. :) I'll be back later in the week with another layout to share. Thanks for stopping by...

Pink carnation and a White berry pin.

And of course some Pink Stripe Washi Tape.

Some gorgeous bits and pieces, gotta have some resin

Thats all I have to share today.
