A Very D-Lish Christmas, by Chantal :)

Hi everyone!  Well, sadly it's my last month on the design team here at D-Lish.  I've very much enjoyed my term here... it's practically flown by!

And now with Christmas around the corner, I thought I'd share a few festive and upbeat layouts using some D-Lish goodies!

I pretty much use a bit of D-Lish on almost all of my projects.   Some projects have more than others, depending on the layout theme and what I have on hand to suit.

My first layout is called "Time 2 Trim The Tree" and it's using a very recent photo - 1st December 2012.  How's that for fast?  Well that's fast for me, anyway!  Of course I'm not at all "up to date" with my photos... far from it!

This is based on the latest challenge at WW1.  The challenge is to use White + Red + A Christmas Photo.  I love working with red so this was like a dream come true!  I have created a kind of Christmas tree-styled title, along with the angled vintage Christmas sheet music...

I am absolutely in love with this Resin Heart from D-Lish Scraps.  There are other colours available too - they are simply stunning!!!

I then used some washi tape as a border around the edges.  I can never seem to get enough washi tape.  And there's always so many cool designs and colours to choose from... such good value!

My Journal It's journal spot, Resin Polka-Dot Button and Carnival Tickets are also from D-Lish.

My next layout is called "Noel", and it's based on the current challenge at "Once Upon A... Sketch"...

The washi tapes used on my layout include my trusty fave, "Woodgrain" and the hot-off-the-presses "Newsprint".  Newsprint is fairly see-through so you can create some really cool effects with it, much like transparencies and stamping - only heaps easier! :)

I created a border around my photo using the two aforementioned tapes.  I have layered Newsprint with some transparencies for a bit of depth and interest.

I have used Lavender twine strung around the Christmas trees, as well as around the Christmas bauble decorations...

I have also topped off the baubles with some left-over pieces from FWAB Chloe Pearl Flourish.   There are soooo many possibilities with these flourishes (especially one as big as Chloe!) that I usually have some bits left over after cutting them up to suit my layout (the first layout also uses a FWAB Chloe Pearl Flourish, in red).  As lovely as the flourishes are, I usually end up altering them at least a little... it's lots of fun!

Lastly is one of my personal favourite layouts of mine that I have scrapped a couple of weeks ago, called "A Tender Moment"...

I've gone for a pretty, delicate and shabby look for this one.  And lots of D-lish goodies on this one!  Let's have a closer look...

I've used a Small Rose from the Rose Pack - Blue here on the top right corner, along with another Small Rose from the Rose Pack - Cream (I've pulled out it's middle and stuck a teeny weeny rhinestone in the centre... just to mix it up) and a Medium Rose from the Rose Pack - Pink.  I kept the the stems on two of the roses and turned them into pretty tendrils by wrapping them around a small paintbrush handle. :)

I've stippled gesso onto these chipboard deer and after a light ink with pink distress ink, I have threaded cute "Love" charms onto the wire stems of these roses and then I've wrapped them around the deers' necks using this wire... so no need for adhesive for these!

Some more pretty roses as aforementioned, and one of the wire stems is holding this cute Keys on a Ring Brass Charm.  And if you noticed that the amount of tendrils actually match the roses so how can this be, then you are quite the detective!  Lol!  Seriously though, I actually used a wire stem that I'd previously cut from a rose and I glued it underneath a rose so you can't tell that it's a "faux stem"! ;)

I've used two Resin Birds here too... they come in sooo many colours so there's always sure to be one to suit your colour palette!

Okay, so that's all from me now!  I've really enjoyed being on the design team here at D-lish!  It's been super awesome - a really great team!  All the best to the new DT members (whoever they may be) - I'm sure you'll have an absolute blast like me, and I sure am looking forward to seeing the continued creative inspiration on the blog here at D-lish.

To all our wonderful D-lish Scraps fans, thanks so much for all your lovely comments over the past six months - I always read them and very much appreciate them - and I hope you all have a very merry Christmas and a safe and happy new year!

Chantal :)

All Good Things....

must come to an end and sadly, this is my last post as a DT member here at D-Lish. :( I have really enjoyed my time on this team with a wonderful bunch of talented scrappers. I am looking forward to seeing who the new team members will be and what they do with these gorgeous products. Anyway, onto some scrapping! lol

Flowers are the perfect embellishment for girly layouts and there are such a gorgeous selection of flowers in the store. I especially love these paper flowers.

And these resin flowers have pretty much become a staple on my layouts.

I also love the subtle touches of  wooden embellishments on my layouts. I just love these hearts and butterflies. :)

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Safe and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. See you round.

Three cute D-lish shares for you by Chantal! :)

Hi everyone!

How is everyone?  Great, I hope!

Well today I've got three cute layouts using D-lish Scraps' goodies to share with you all!

You may of already noticed, but for those who haven't or don't know me very well, I just LOVE colour!  ALOT!!!

So today, I'll start with my brightest coloured layout, then work down to my most subdued coloured layout... just 'cause I can!  Lol!

This first layout is based on the current sketch challenge at My Creative Sketches.  This sketch was perfect for the vertical elements in my layout and it also uses one focal photo...

I love this photo of Lucy having her very first koala cuddle.  She was so proud to hold him all by herself... he is a big boy!! :)

I've decorated all my chipboard easily with acrylic paint and then once dried, I've outlined and doodled on them with a Uniball Gel Impact pen.  Love the striking look this technique gives!

I've also used a chipboard sun on my layout.  I've used the outer "rays" part and I've put a journalling spot underneath for some (you guessed it!) journalling.

The other D-lish goodies here (other than the above mentioned Journalling Spot), are four Journal It's Note Strips - Rainbow, a green Resin Rose, Resin Mini Dove, Resin Heart, Washi Tape and Carnival Tickets.

My next layout is called "You 2 Have Caught the Travel Bug!"...

I've made my own "world" by using a compass and pencil, followed by adhering stickers around the circle (the idea actually came from some the stickers) then outlining both the circle and around the stickers with a black Sharpie marker and then cutting around the outer edges.

I absolutely adore these D-lish resin birds and I can never ever get enough washi tape... (like, EVER!) ;)

I've been rippin' out the ol' sewing machine lately...

I machine stitched through my title for a bit of visual anchorage... plus I don't trust those Thickers over washi tape.. especially when they are partially layered over more Thickers! ;)

And now I've shared two colourful graphic-style layouts with you I'd like to share something just a little bit different - a somewhat "elegant-style" wedding layout.  I have used October 15th's Sketch at Stuck?! for this one, entitled "Laura & Robert"...

I have used the actual wedding invitation on my layout to form part of the journalling and for the title.  The invitation was so simple and elegant and it had all the vital information about the first wedding that my girls have attended.

I used decorative scissors to cut a square shape (similar in size to the photos) from the original invitation (which was originally postcard size) and I've tab punched two other parts of the invite and tucked them under the photos.

Here's a close-up of the two gorgeous Old Fashioned Roses and the lovely two-toned Medium Rose that I've used...

The little addition of that Charm Key really added that something extra to the title square, don't you think?  It's very detailed... love metal charms - especially when they are that particular "vintage dirty gold" colour. :)

Plus I've also used a Mini Rose and Small Rose at the top of my layout...

Well I hoped you have enjoyed my new layouts using a small selection of D-lish's vast range of awesome embellishments available in store!  There's always new stock coming in and it's so exciting to check out what's available!

TFL & Cheers!

Lots Of Layers

Hi Guys, it's Lauren here again. I am going to share a couple of layouts with you today that have lots and lots of layers. I love layering paper, stickers and embellishments on my layouts. It's a great way to use up scraps of paper too! So here is my layout:

And as you can see from this photo there are quite a few different layers there. I have started with one of the cute paper doilies from D-lish Scraps. I have then added some yellow polka dot fabric tape and layers of patterned paper - some that I have cut out using my Nestabilities dies. I have then used some stickers to create some extra layers.

After I added my photo, I have created another layer on the top with my dymo tape journalling, the chevron bottle top and the heart & star buttons.

I love the way it gives dimension to the layout even though there is a lot of white space on it too. This next layout is based on the October 1st sketch at Stuck Sketches. Again I have used lots of layouts of paper, shipping tags, washi tape and embellishments.

I have used a couple of resin flowers:

I have also made some bunting using D-lish embellies - I've used the star & heart buttons, the polka dot buttons and some twine and added a few stickers on there too.

 Thanks for stopping by...

D-Lish Catch up with Kate

Wow October already! Where has the time gone? Can't believe we are halfway through our DT term here at D-Lish Scraps, it feels like yesterday we started but I know I feel like I have been part of the D-Lish Family forever now!

I hope you are loving all the stock at D-Lish Scraps, I know when Amanda is stocking up the stock with new products, I am drawn to buying them and also always end up buying my favourites from the shop as well.

Happy Feet
Sometimes, my layouts don't feel complete without some D-Lish washi tape on them. They add lots of colour, and interest to the base of my layouts. I have also used some roses, TuTu Blossom, Satin Cabbage rose and some of the new Pearl Cabochons which are great value for money at $1.20 a pack and I placed them randomly around my page using double sided tape.

Cheese! FAIL

I don't know if you realise or not but D-Lish Scraps stocks Stamens. I love these little yellow ones, and I made a bunch of them together and slid them in my flower cluster. They come in 8 different colours and are only 50cents a pack! *Note to self- must buy more!!!*

I have also used a wild rose, roses, tutu blossom and a resin flower.

Daffodil Day

I just wanted to also quickly show you something I created using the new fabric tape!

I cut it up with some washi tape and used them as rays from the patterned paper sun that I had fussy cut out. The fabric tape has a fabulous adhesive on the back like the washi tape, but it is stronger so your fabric isn't going to be lumpy and bumpy when you place it on your project. I have also used some bright star buttons, cherry blossoms, pin, roses, forget me nots, wild rose and some Flourish with a Bling products (up in the sky cloud and rhinestones from the antique brown Elise flourish set). You should see the products Amanda has currently in stock from this Australian owner manufacturer.

I love being inspired by fellow scrapbookers, and one of my all time favourite scrapbookers and a great buddy of mine is Stacey Young. She recently put up a tutorial on her blog showing how you can make layered butterflies with canvas butterflies. She is amazing! It dawned on me that D-Lish Scraps actually sells canvas butterflies (and clouds & hearts!) and in various sizes!!

I gave it a bit of a go when I was on a crop day last weekend and although it would take a bit of practice and doesn't look anywhere near as good as Stacey's (LOL!) it makes for an individual and cost effective embellishment. I am looking forward to making some layered hearts as well.

Thanks for dropping by! Leave a comment to say hello or if you have created an embellishment using a D-Lish Scraps product I would love to hear about it!!

Love Kate xo
